I've been seeing this argument everywhere, and I find it rather silly.
> $STRC sucks because it's not Bitcoin.
It's not trying to be #Bitcoin. It's trying to sacrifice some of Bitcoin's upside in order to give you a high yield and low volatility while not materially sacrificing liquidity.
And oh, by the way, it takes advantage of a quirk in tax code to give you your yield tax-deferred in taxable accounts.
If you prefer the risk/return profile of Bitcoin, by all means, buy Bitcoin. But don't get mad at other Bitcoin-backed products for merely existing, especially when demand for them makes your spot Bitcoin more valuable.

the fundamental problem with STRC is you take all the risk of bitcoin (an asset that was always going to have a binary outcome), and cap the upside at ~11%. this is a good deal for saylor as btc probably survives and he gets the upside minus 11% while you bear 100% downside risk
