I’d like to push back on those who argue that Tuchel’s decisions are being criticized simply because they lost. Whether defending the lead was the right or wrong choice it was massively hampered after Rice came off and Jude had to play as a #6.

Jude isn’t a holding midfielder, the ins and outs of that position like when to get inbetween your CBs, when to jump out, when to take up space etc aren’t his strengths and if you decide to defend fully don’t hamper yourself with decisions like that even if Rice had to come off.

@MinimumWidth Also changed his back 3 twice in 10 minutes. Stones was the the CB, then went to the right, lots of confusion around positioning in the final few minutes. Think he panicked at the end trying to defend the lead.
