Fallout's the The Master is brilliant because he provides so many player choices for conflict and engagement. That, and he's actually written with a great background - which lord forbid, does dip into some aspects of humour and madness. He's an end boss you can literally talk into killing himself - or joining. He's indicative of an actual design palette we never see in any of the Bethesda Fallout games. Grotesque, bizarre and compelling. What Fallout should actually be.

@RazorwireRPG "You don't Understand if there's humor it must all be jokes! Haha le silly nuke game!" Such trite, it really shows how far more intelligent old developers were with their writing compared to the average person today who's so shallow in their thinking.

@RazorwireRPG The show really should have just been a faithful retelling of the first 2 games, most people don’t even know what happened

Finding Richard Grey's logs detailing what happened to him at Mariposa (a completely different game location) and what ultimately led him to this twisted final form ... but not forcing it on the player in any capacity is truly MASTERful story telling. "I think I consumed one of the mutated things scurrying around here today. Before I knew what was happening, some sort of tendril had sprang from my stomach and covered the poor creature. As soon as it had sucked the rodent into my gut I could actually feel its mind."

@RazorwireRPG I like President Eden, but I do see how he is drawn as an inverse to the master, a cold machine, pretending to be steward of humanity, wanting to purge all mutants, even if 1% mutated, who you use logic to talk into killing himself--

@RazorwireRPG I was like "Bro, Super mutants are sterile. You already know this. There is no future." How the super intelligent "Master" missed that huge factor is humorous on its own. Then he karks it. Mutant dumbass.

@RazorwireRPG I just beat this a couple months back, remember when it dawned on me just who the master actually was. That was a cool moment.

@RazorwireRPG I think Bethesda is worried about going into the grotesque. Why make a dark, grim apocalyptic wasteland when they can just give you Elder Scrolls with guns?

@RazorwireRPG I love talking him into killing himself cuz it definitely isn't the easiest way of dealing with him, but I find it the most rewarding

@RazorwireRPG I can confidently say we're never going to see a good fallout game in our lifetimes unless Bethesda undergoes a massive overhaul, or the franchise is handed to a different studio.
