Powell’s only crime is doing his job ethically rather than caving to the desired of Trump. When Hitler became Chancellor of Germany, he became increasingly frustrated by the fact that the director of the Reichbank wouldn’t concede to his demands. The director eventually resigned after receiving enough threats to his life. The Fed is independent. Politicians don’t get to determine its policy
