@UnityCodeMonkey For devs that do this: make sure the music is not in the YouTube Content ID system. Make a private video with all the music of your game in it and see if the video gets flagged.
It would hurt if content creators would play your game but they get flagged because of the music.

@UnityCodeMonkey i strongly strongly strongly strongly strongly disagree. absolutely not. no no no.
genre matters for this, of course. but music is SO important if you’re wanting to make a story or action or adventure game, which so many indie devs want to make. DONT SKIMP OUT ON ATMOSPHERE

@UnityCodeMonkey There are so many royalty free bangers. Problems with these royalty free assets, music especially, is with their licensing uncertainty. I remember there were cases of music purchased via bundle deals being copyright struck, hence I'm hesitant to use them.

@UnityCodeMonkey There's insane amounts of quality stuff out there too, all royalty-free

@UnityCodeMonkey With royalty free music I think we run into the same type of problem as with assets. Meaning that the more music / sound fx you grab here and there the more disjointed the end result will be. It's harder to keep something cohesive if you don't create it or commission someone.

@UnityCodeMonkey You can if you create it using MuGen. store.steampowered.com/app/1806340/Mu…
