A single accountant stole $53 million from her employer over 20 years and nobody noticed Rita Crundwell was the comptroller of Dixon, Illinois with a population of 15,000 She opened a secret bank account called “Reserve Sewer Capital Development Account” For two decades she transferred city funds into it while filing fake invoices She used the money to become the most successful quarter horse breeder in America Owned 400 horses, multiple farms, a custom bus, and a $2.1 million motorhome She won the World Championship in quarter horse breeding four times while actively robbing a small town Only got caught because a substitute accountant covered her desk while she was on vacation The city had been cutting firefighter jobs and road repairs for years while this was happening $53 million. One woman. 20 years. One vacation.

Left handed people existing breaks a rule in evolution that nobody can explain Only about 10% of the population is left handed and that number has stayed the same for 10,000 years It never goes up and never goes down Evolution isn't meant to work like that, traits spread because they are useful or die off because they aren't Left handedness doesn't do either and stays the same percentage across every culture, country and population They process fear differently and react faster to danger than right handed people They are different neurologically and slightly overrepresented in certain criminal populations and significantly overrepresented among US presidents The trait seems to produce extremes Ancient cultures were afraid of them, the word "sinister" originates from the Latin word "sinistra" which means "left" or "on the left side" 10% There's always 10% Never more It was decided that was the exact number needed in the population

Dirty bird feeders kill birds. Not slowly. Not rarely. They spread disease through entire flocks. If you’re putting food out, clean your feeder regularly. How often do you clean yours?

Lynette Hooker Of course Brian Hooker left the Bahamas after vowing to stay... Was just discussing this yesterday with @JoeTalkShow that he would leave asap. No way is he going to spend time hunting for her. He knows where she is and what happened. It would be a waste of his time. #LynetteHooker #BrianHooker

guys with daughters love to say stuff like “becoming a girl dad has made me start looking at women as real human beings who deserve rights” and it’s like, that’s cool, but how exactly were you looking at women before?

@BadSeedBooks @Ryan_Daigler I think they generally come up with some reason to justify it. In my case it was "it should have been me who had those qualities all along, im just righting a mistake"

Ryan Daigler - Exposing Narcissistic Abuse 🚩🚩
A narcissistic abuse tactic I call “Leapfrogging” is a form of predatory behavior where a narcissist targets someone they envy—often someone who possesses traits, status, or social capital the narcissist lacks or is threatened or envious of. The malignant narcissist makes a conscious decision to destroy or discredit the target before initiating the friendship or connection. The entire relationship is a setup—an infiltration. They study their target, mimic their behavior, and mirror their values, all while planning their psychological ambush.

my lukewarm take on married last names is that whichever is the coolest last name should “win” and become the family name example: my maiden name was Mars, and I changed it to Hakanson to match my husband he works for NASA we chose poorly

@KevBounce I don't. Being sober just means you couldn't handle drinking normally. Nobody stops drinking because they drank normally.

True Story. I flew a Red Eye flight out of San Francisco last night. Had a family try to sneak a duck on to the airplane. A duck. The gate agent noticed they had a pet carrier but hadn’t paid for a pet to fly. So the agent charged them for the pet fee and allowed them to board at boarding. Once boarding was complete, the gate agent sent out final numbers to the flight deck and came down to the plane to tag the pet carrier with a tag. That’s when he noticed there was a duck in the carrier. The family had hid the duck until they boarded… thought they were good to go… then pulled it out and put it in the carrier. Needless to say the flight was further delayed (we were already late) as we had to unfortunately remove the family. And the duck. Most airlines allow small domestic vaccinated cats and dogs. Not rabbits. Not ducks. Maybe had they just paid for the ‘pet’ to begin with instead of trying to not pay for it… no one would’ve needed to get close enough to notice. Way to keep it weird SFO… you never disappoint! (Image is AI generated to represent the story)

Real people don’t care about opinions. They’re rooted in their own being. Their own values. Their own beliefs. They don't give a shit about what will people think. They’ve realized that people judge no matter what. They'll judge you if you change. Judge you if you stay the same. So they stop explaining. They stop fitting in. They stop following the "herds". Instead, they build their own path. An honest one. Flawed. Imperfect. But unapologetically theirs. And that kind of person is dangerous. Because once someone stops needing approval, nobody can control them. Nobody.
