I built a Bitcoin parser that reads Ordinals inscriptions directly from Bitcoin Core. No ord. No indexer. No middleware. Just Bitcoin.
But first — credit where it's due.
Bitoshi @Blockamoto built Bitmap. Simple, elegant, and quietly radical. He took Bitcoin's block heights and said: this is a map. Districts. Property. Geography baked into the timechain. People said Bitcoin can't do that. He just did it anyway, with full respect for the protocol.
Now he's done it again with Bitmap Signal Theory. Hoods. Sectors. Signals. A governance layer that doesn't touch Bitcoin — it just reads it. Abstract enough to be beautiful. Concrete enough to be checked. Every time someone says Bitcoin can't be more than money, Bitoshi @Blockamoto finds the thing that was already there and counts it.
That's the spirit I'm building in.
Here's what Ordinals actually is, stripped bare.
Since Taproot, every Bitcoin transaction input has a witness field. @rodarmor didn't build a new protocol. He built a convention for what you put there. The "inscription" is an envelope:
OP_FALSE
OP_IF
"ord"
OP_1
"image/png"
OP_0
OP_ENDIF
That's it. No sidechain. No token. No magic. Data hidden inside a script branch Bitcoin never executes — but always stores.
Every ord indexer in existence reads this envelope. Most of them crash, lag, or require you to trust someone else's node. The canonical ord indexer crashed for me at block 767,437. Every version. Same block. Dead stop.
So I went underneath it.
bitcoin-cli getrawtransaction
→ witness stack
→ decode bytes
→ detect OP_FALSE OP_IF "ord"
→ extract payload
→ apply ruleset
Block → TX → witness → envelope → decision. No ord binary. No separate process. No trust.
This is what Bitcoin actually looks like from the inside. Not the wallet abstraction. Not the block explorer abstraction. Not the ord abstraction. Raw bytes. Script opcodes. Witness data. The thing itself.
@rodarmor gave us a convention. That convention lives on Bitcoin's witness layer. Bitcoin doesn't care what's in there. Bitcoin just stores it. Which means: anyone who can read a transaction can read an inscription. You don't need his software to see his envelopes.
My parser runs on a Raspberry Pi. Indexed through #944,231. Ready for block 945,000. Every result is traceable: block → tx → witness → payload → rule → decision. Not because I say so. Because you can check it yourself.

The deepest thing about Ordinals isn't the JPEGs. It's that someone figured out you could use Bitcoin's witness field as a data layer — and the whole network stores it forever, without knowing or caring. The blockchain is the indexer. You just have to know how to read it.
Bitoshi @Blockamoto keeps finding these things. I just built a parser that can see them.
If something is claimed, it can be checked. If it cannot be checked, it does not hold.
I built the check.

I can’t even remember the last time bitmap felt fun but we definitely had some great moments... 🧡
Met some real ones here, shared passion, dreams, late nights… all of it. For that, I’m truly grateful.
If I have one small regret, it’s that I spent all my time, and lots of money supporting everyone here, instead of “building” for a few BTC like the smart cabal guys… right???
¨Anywayyyy¨
I know I’m not even close to perfect, and never said I was, but I always tried to keep it real.
When I saw that was lost, and that most were fake or chasing agendas, I knew it was time to say goodbye.
In the end… it was all a dream.
a dream of freedom, not politics.
TLDR: Fuck this world. Still, wishing everyone the best moving forward 🫶
and u never know… whatever happens, happens…🦒🚁

Somehow, all pieces from every Bitmap builder fit together.
This is @blockamoto's multiple angels.
Soon, the whole community gets builder tools on BitmapSunset.
Soon, the whole will grow way greater than the sum.
Suddenly, then everything, all at once.

One of the core features of Atlas is path locator addresses.
The addresses that are compatible are:
🔸 #.bitmap (district)
🔸 #.#.bitmap (parcel)
🔸 #.sat
🔸 #.uncommon
🔸 #.rare
🔸 #.epic
atlas.land
It defaults to latest on sat (-1), but you can specify with /{index}
For example:
🔸 4.epic/0
🔸 692769.bitmap/-1
There are plans to add more rare sats, so long as they rely on a mathematical index. I also plan to add further functions so you can navigate the children and even parents with paths.
