As a historian, I've always been careful with the word "fascism." We've all seen how it shuts down debate when everyone throws it at everything they don't like. But at some point, being careful with the word starts to mean being blind to the thing itself.



💢 NEW: Iran strikes chemical complex in Negev linked to white phosphorus production An Iranian ballistic missile struck the state-owned ICL Rotem chemical complex in Israel’s Negev on March 25, causing a large blast and fire at the facility, according to reports and geolocated footage. The site, near Dimona, is part of Israel’s largest chemicals company and is linked to phosphate extraction used in white phosphorus production, according to reports cited by Cradle Media. Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International have documented Israel’s illegal use of white phosphorus in both Gaza and southern Lebanon.

This is interesting. Russia has more than doubled theoretical oil revenues from the higher oil price and sanctions being lifted. But now 40% of that is offline because of Ukrainian attacks on oil export infrastructure. So in the end, Putin is not that much better off.
