The same thing will happen if Aiadmk wins TN elections in 2026. Before 2031, Bjp will replace EPS with H. Raja. Vote for Aiadmk if you wanna have H. Raja as our next CM

It's not just a South vs North India issue. States with better economies, lower TFRs even beyond the South would be negatively impacted by delimitation - Punjab, Haryana, Maharashtra etc... North East India would only get sidelined even further. Delimitation is just BIMARU imperialism - they'll have the highest seat gains.
ThamiZh@ThamizhTharmar

Delimitation isn't DMK's fight. It's Tamil Nadu's fight. It's every Tamil's fight. Don't let party hate blind you. Demand #FairDelimitation — freeze 1971 census ratios for 30 more years. Don't punish the South for controlling population. #TNwillFightTNwillWin #FairDelimitation

Chennai folks should stop opposing skyscrapers Skyscrapers are good for the same reason buses, trains or nuclear plants are good. They serve more people but need less space & resources It’s far easier to build infrastructure like metros or sewage to support vertical clusters than horizontal sprawl. Which is easier: build metro to cover 200 km² or 1000 km² ? Services like garbage collection are also easier for vertical growth than urban sprawl When a school kid distribute chocolates to classmates for birthday, which is easier: visiting each of their homes? or giving when they’re all in the classroom? Our current FSI limits are akin to banning local trains or buses. Imagine how stupid & inefficient that would be! Already TN's tax money is redistributed up north; the little that remains shouldn't be wasted on maintaining suburban sprawl

In this Delimitation Bill, if Southern States are guaranteed of 203 seats (24% out of 850), it can certainly be welcomed with 33% reservation for women (TN - 61 seats or 7.2% of total seats). More representatives may help to address the issues of people better. But any reduction in the number of representatives for Southern States based on population census of 2011 (may be 166 seats) will be unfair and injustice. We all in Southern States must protect our representation proportion in Indian Parliament ✍️ #DelimitationBill2026

Dear brother @Revanth_Anumula, Our unity is to protect our state rights and secure a just and equitable future for our generations to come. The South will stand together, speak with one voice, and uphold the true spirit of federalism. #Delimitation #TNWillFightTNWillWin

Dear Thiru @mkstalin You were amongst the first of leaders to foresee this danger and organise leaders of South India at a conclave in #Chennai in March last year. We have to unite against this onslaught on the political rights and protect our voice in Delhi. Let us take inspiration of Babasaheb Dr B R Ambedkar on this most special days to “Educate, Agitate, and Organise”. Together… let us march. #LokSabhaDelimitation

@Dheerangounder1 So it’s not new year particularly for Tamils . And Telugus follow the same calendar but celebrate new year on different day . And the calendar is heavily in sanskrit and has a backstory with Natashar and Krishnar. Why are we calling it Tamil new year ?

Delimitation of Lok Sabha seats on the basis of population is equivalent to reducing the political representation of South Indian States in Parliament, and it is unacceptable for South Indians with self-respect. If the Union Government goes ahead with the delimitation of the Lok Sabha seats on the basis of population, then it is a must for South Indian politicians, irrespective of their political party, to collectively demand constitutional safeguards for their respective States. The Constitutional Safeguards that I propose are:👇🏻 1) Amend the Constitution to transfer all subjects from the Concurrent List to the State List in Schedule VII. 2) Amend the Constitution to mandate that the Governor act on Bills passed by the State Legislature within 30 days, and that disputes between State law and Union law, as identified by the Governor, be adjudicated by the Supreme Court of India rather than being referred to the President of India. 3) Fifty percent of the tax revenue collected by the Union Government, including cesses and surcharges, shall be vertically distributed to the States. 4) Revise GST rates in the ratio (SGST : CGST = 2 : 1). Explanation: 5% GST slab (SGST : CGST = 3.33% : 1.67%) 18% GST slab (SGST : CGST = 12% : 6%) 40% GST slab (SGST : CGST = 26.67% : 13.33%) 5) Amend Article 293 of the Constitution of India to allow economically sustainable States to determine the extent of their borrowing in a financial year. 6) Repeal Article 249 of the Constitution of India, which allows Parliament to legislate on subjects in the State List when authorized by the Rajya Sabha. 7) Amend the Representation of the People Act to enable migrants residing in a State to vote in their home State through Electronically Transmitted Postal Ballot Papers (ETPB), and to authorize State Legislatures to determine the criteria for migrant voter registration. I’m an Urdu journalist from @TheSiasatDaily Hyderabad, and I write this not just for myself, but for every voice across South India. India must pause and reflect urgently. Call it what it is. This is not delimitation. This is retribution. Retribution for stabilizing population growth. Retribution for prioritizing education. Retribution for fulfilling the very vision the nation once championed. For decades, South Indian states chose discipline over populism. They invested in people, strengthened institutions, and powered a significant share of India’s economic growth. And today, what stands before us? A future with diminished representation. A quieter voice in Parliament. A reduced role in shaping the nation we helped build. Think about that. States that planned ahead, governed responsibly, and delivered results are now at risk of being sidelined while political weight tilts solely toward population size. Is this the balance our Constitution envisioned? This is not cooperative federalism. This is a deep structural distortion in the making. Are we still a Union of States or are we drifting toward a system where a few permanently dominate, and others are expected to simply adjust? Representation must not come at the cost of equity. Democracy cannot become a mechanism that penalizes performance. If delimitation proceeds without meaningful safeguards, it will not merely alter constituencies it will alter the very soul of India. South India is not asking for special treatment. It is asking for justice. @narendramodi @mkstalin @revanth_anumula @ncbn @siddaramaiah @pinarayivijayan @RahulGandhi @kharge

What’s this Delimitation bill proposed to be implemented with increase in Parliamentary seats to 850 based on 2011 Census and how the powers will change between South & North?. Check this State-wise analysis of current seats & proposed based on 2011 census: South States currently have 24% representation. It will get reduced to 20% (166 seats - increase of just 36 seats in 850). Five Northern States have 37% representation now. It will get increased to 43% (367 seats - increase of 167 seats compared to 200 now) Population controls effectively followed by Southern States will lose out their power in parliament effectively with this delimitation if implemented. Not Fair to Southern States if 2011 census is the basis for seats allocated in 850. All political parties of Tamil Nadu must resist and seek proportional seats of 203 (24% of 850) in the proposed increase in number of representatives in the ensuing debate on the bill, to be presented in Parliament ✍️ @arivalayam @ADMKofficial @TVKVijayHQ @NaamTamilarOrg @INCIndia @TamilnaduStats
