@geka9400 I’ve always said the hardest part about changing your child’s behavior is changing your behavior. (Mostly said to myself over and over)

This might get me cancelled but I feel like people don’t realize 90% of their child’s bad behavior is caused by their parenting. I don’t mean developmentally normal “bad” behavior, I mean the parents that literally can’t control their kids. Your kids learn from your behavior, if you’re constantly screaming at your child like a psycho—why are you surprised they are screaming back? They learned it from you.

@karenvaites Also, students can find things adults wouldn’t engaging. My reading students love building words with letter magnets and reading the same decodable multiple times. Sometimes random adult would think it’s boring, but it’s not to them.

@karenvaites I’ve found students become engaged when they are successful. Sometimes that means it’s not fun that’s why we call it work, but no child is more engaged than the elementary student that just got to show the whole office their 100 or read to them their 1st sentence.

@audrawrongspeak If I had it to do again I would buy the nursing tops made for modesty. Trying to make it work or always wearing a nursing tank was not fun. Should have just spent the money. My 2 cents.

@eduleadership When I went on a middle school field trip last year I thought gps tags that kids could where and be tracked in places would be great. Joe’s not on the bus tag shows restroom. A quick overview where teacher/chaperones can see all kids are with a buddy and location in the museum.

Make sure you and your family and friends have a go to hell point; an agreed upon location that you will all meet at in the event of a catastrophe. If it is bad enough to flee, communications will likely be compromised or degraded. If you must move on from your go to hell point, leave some way for your loved ones to know where you went. This is just prudent planning.

Whenever my kids ask me a question, I answer them in basic first principles. I once heard a young boy ask his grandmother why the boat they were in floated and she said "because it's buoyant". What a disservice she did to him! The right answer was "because the air in the boat is lighter than water, the water pushes the boat up, more than the boat can push the water down". Maybe it's genes, but my explanations seem to be making my kids a lot smarter than their peers.

@hyperdiscogirl @witty_genstein You can also learn what it looks like and look down the throat like a doc. If you have a rapid test at home then you can do an online doc and not even to go into a dr.’s office and risk catching something else. Win. Win. 😁

Spiraling because I didn’t take kid to the doctor every time she got sick this winter because that would have been every other week and we are a take the Motrin and see if the fever lasts more than 48 hours kind of household but what if it was undiagnosed strep one of those times and she seemed to recover but actually didn’t and wow being a parent is hard! we all have way too much information about the dangers of this world and every day is a battle to maintain the courage and faith to not worry about literally everything all of the time

@theguardrailguy @grok Thank you. Just a random spot proves my suspicion. I know 65 has messed up cable dividers, so I figured the guard rails were the same. May try to share this to some local groups. Facebook what’s happening Cullman…

@MacSherbert @grok Cullman, AL maps.app.goo.gl/pdP9N5yzt7vxAn… The bearing plate on MSKT is askew. Slight damage to rail 3 and post 7. Worst crash I have looked at involved similar columm compromise. Belted victim was ejected. Skewered on the guardrail with eyes open.

Have me check out a guardrail! Tell me where to look cross streets, city, and state or GPS location. I will check out Google Street View and see what I find. I will try and do at least 10 and possibly more. @Grok give me my first random location somewhere in America

@MrsRCMann @theguardrailguy @grok It may require local government getting involved. We’ve had to have our city council and mayor get involved to get ALDOT to take seriously the harm it did our communities when they move traffic from the interstate through our roads for construction etc.

@BuzzPatterson A park in my home town still had these when my kids were little and they always wanted to go when we visited relatives. I remember the day we pulled in & they had been replaced with newer safer versions…it was like a death.

@vrilledcheese @Primal_Birth Actually, I think you want find out about the post csection infection rate, bf rate after Csections, what methods they use to close after the C-section, nursery policy. High risk you want a hospital that has a nicu or you might end up at one hospital and baby at another.

@Primal_Birth you just made me realize something tho. since i don't want a c section i pick a backup hospital with a low c section rate. but if i needed a c section i would want the hospital with the highest c section rate 😅 ahh!

@hilarym99 My NC 6th graders can’t tell you the continents and oceans; they don’t know who fought in the world wars; they can’t read a timeline; many don’t know a city from a state from a country. I do rigorous work every day and it’s not enough. They think knowledge is pointless.

I think that folks don’t grasp the degree to which science and social studies is completely pushed out of the curriculum. The stuff kids don’t know would shock most educated adults.
Olivia Mullins@oliviajune82

@warmMagnet @karenvaites @alexanderrusso I will reply. Less than half of 5th graders at the schools I work with can identify that MLK & Abe Lincoln lived in different eras. About 1/2 of 4th graders cannot identify that CA, where we live, is a state. You stated the crisis is on social media only. This is very, very wrong
