@ResistancePTI Pak's real economy is perhaps around 600 billion or there about, which is I think 1/5th of GCC economy. Point to see is that we have a 250 million population and our per Capita income is peanuts. Also GDP does take into account much of the informal economy.

When an economy has nothing useful to sell, it sells its land. Elites and diasporoids buy land because it is more stable and reliable than investing in a business or in the stock market of that country.
Also, it takes nothing to create a real estate scheme. You just have to know the right people to sign the right papers and convert land from agriculture to residential and boom, you have a new housing society and the value of that land has quadrupled.
It is by far the least productive use of money in a given economy and a sign of bad economic indicators.

One advantage the Iranians have is that their entire elite seems to consist of 130 IQ polymath combat veterans with PhDs who stormed across minefields with fixed bayonets surrounded by poison gas back in the day and then spent 30 years studying philosophy, game theory, engineering and military science. Average decision-maker quality appears to be dramatically higher than elsewhere, especially qualified for shit-hits-the-fan situations

@areyouawitchor2 Yeah I was in Egypt last year and stayed in a lovely gated community in 6th Oct City. Far too many similarities with Pakistan such as the surplus of billboards for new real estate projects. You can always tell how an economy is going based on how many real estate ads you see.

This dark-tinted vehicle overtook me on Ring Road today and was literally flying. Got stuck in traffice and that gave me the opportunity to take a picture.
The number plate appears fake as far as I know, neither Islamabad Police nor NHMP has this variant in their official fleet or may be some of his relative in Police have the same registration plate on his vehicle.
Then again, anything is possible in our country.
