@anshu2701 @Dr_McCockliffe @RomanEagles @MarkGottlieb @ICC Rohit Sharma knows he hit it. Jaiswal knows it as well. It’s the sign of the team’s character that they can’t accept it. By not accepting it they ensured defeat. If they got on with it they could have played for a draw. Besides, video replay is also valid technology. Move on.

Reasons India lost the #BoxingDayTest: - Sharma & Kohli being walking wickets - Jaiswal’s poor catching - Pant’s dumb batting Things that didn’t cost India: - ‘cheating’ Aussies - ‘cheating’ umpires - ‘optical illusions’ - ‘late swing’

In Bryson DeChambeau’s latest “break the course record at a public course” he shot a 66 failing to tie the course record by 4 shots. This should end the debate of “pro golfers will demolish public courses” Will they play well? Yes, of course, they are pro golfers. But so many people think they will go out there are shoot in the 50s or low 60s every single round. At the end of the day, they still need to make putts to go super low. And a 10 footer is still a 10 footer. Their make % doesn’t go from 40% to 90% just because it’s an “easy” public course So next time you play really well at an “easy” course be joyful because you still had to play great golf to make that happen.

@julianjpotter @GrogsGamut Nice back track. Taking tax receipts to ‘retire’ debts is smart. Fiscally it took heat out of the economy and strengthened government. Treasury doesn’t issue bonds because market needs them. They are to fund government expenditure. QE is a different matter entirely.

@TMFScottP As a train driver in a different state I say go hard to the lads. It's an utterly thankless job with terrible hours. They deserve to be well remunerated. Also, Sydney Trains is rather unique where it's the entire company on strike. They only have 1 agreement. 14000 workers.

In what world is a 32% increase in wages over four years a decent expectation? I get that the union is trying it on, but fair dinkum, it's an ambit claim because they thought they could get away with it. They're entitled to ask, of course. The government is right to say no 1/4

Union members disrupting flights. This was aired a few days ago. In 2024, Australians side with union members taking action to protect their wages and rights. This will be one of the sacred cows the Coalition will need to eliminate if they have any hope in winning a ton of outer urban seats. Abandon their anti union, anti worker rhetoric, and go after companies that exploit every day Australians. Will they do it? Time will tell.

@GrogsGamut Costello put billions in tax receipts into cancelling fed bonds, something that the RBA can do and has done itself with no fiscal impact. So yes, we can confidently say it was wasted.

@some_sense @GrogsGamut Albanese’s answer to inflation was massive spending programs, an expanding public sector, more immigration, a $600 million rugby league team and a $400 million flawed referendum. Chalmers hasn’t been in there long enough to claim any plaudits and Swan was laughed at.

@tax_oz @TheKouk He’s half correct. If the dollar is weakening despite our rates being comparatively higher, it points to a general lack of appetite for Australia. I.e things are going to get worse.

To nobody’s surprise 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 lost to 🇳🇿 by a massive 423 runs. Sadly, the scale of the defeat, the reckless nature of some of the dismissals and another Stokes injury are likely to overshadow the fact 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 won their first series in 🇳🇿 since 2008. As ever, Bazball remains a mixed bag.

The number 1 tell that the NDIS is a scam is the fact that the average cost of the average package increases year on year. If the services being paid for were genuinely helping participants, you'd expect costs to come down. x.com/misha_saul/sta…

@KosSamaras John Howard was successful in targeting middle and lower classes, particularly small business owners. That was only 17 years ago. Not even two decades. I think you’ve let your perceptions rule your thinking.

Peter Dutton and the Coalition face two significant hurdles. 1.Winning over economically stressed voters in key seats. These voters need to be convinced that life would meaningfully improve under a Coalition government. So far, we have seen little evidence that these voters believe the Coalition offers a better future. 2.Overcoming decades of entrenched perceptions. The Coalition has long been seen as the party of big business, corporate interests, and the erosion of workplace conditions. To shift this image, they will need to abandon decades of policies, rhetoricand ideology to demonstrate a genuine break from these perceptions and convince voters that they’ve truly changed. Two hurdles that could end up being mountains. Relying on voters’ grievances will only secure the Coalition a certain number of seats. It won’t get them to 70 plus seats.

@carnage526 @LouStagner Just got a new driver. 9° loft and hitting it 240-260 metres (265-285 yards). Only one full round played though. 47yo. My previous driver was at 10.5° and was hitting 240-260 yards. Gear and set up have a lot to do with it.

Nuclear power is the scariest power source we have, because it’s incredibly powerful and mysterious. It’s also the safest, most reliable and most environmentally friendly electricity source we have that can power the grid. All the arguments against nuclear are based on fear, loathing and ignorance. Fortunately, the older generation who have fought against nuclear are fading away and a younger more pragmatic generation is taking over. The only way civilization can survive is with abundant sustainable energy, and nuclear is our best option. The future looks bright.
