@MeanieThe15773 @nostalgiafkninc Most of these guys don't have friends and barely leave the house, it's an easy way for them to feel superior. Just mentally flexing their muscles where nobody can actually see them.

@nostalgiafkninc We need a black plague that kills brown people but surprisingly doesn't spread to Africa and we ship them back to "save them"

@n3inri @nostalgiafkninc Some white people are cool but you can't possibly be this enamored with them that only seeing white people is somehow a paradise. Or maybe you are, but it's pretty weird.

@CovfefeAnon @cybelethebest @rwlesq Actually startups usually fail for two or three very specific, well documented reasons. Your reasoning skills are actually terrible, but I was trying to be nice and not insult you. Your original arguments weren't worth addressing, thus me going on a tangent. Have a good evening.

@WildernessPaths @cybelethebest @rwlesq Startups often fail due to flaws of their founders; startups fail for many reasons Once again, this is not the interesting question and you don't understand why - you are terrible at actually evaluating and discussing things

Even after the death of its author, "Bullshit Jobs" remains a cancer on the discourse. It was perhaps the most incurious book I have ever read (strictly speaking, I only read the first third). Companies are not "subsidizing" anyone. If they are hiring someone to do something, there is almost certainly a reason beyond "we wanted to give this random person money." If you can't figure out why, it is probably a problem with you.

@txshout_ybgc @BBGreatMoments That video is Exhibit A of the testosterone crisis in men. The young guys are terrified, the old guy is chill and giving real man vibes and the middle aged guy is somewhere in the middle.

@FoxNews Oh yeah, I bet. Republicans just have Clarence Thomas‘s best interest at heart. Progressivism is the problem. But this is what Republican kids talk about Clarence Thomas. Bravo. 👏🏻

JUSTICE CLARENCE THOMAS: “I think if we don’t stand up and take ownership of our country, and take responsibility for it, we are slowly letting others control how we think and what we think.” "If you think it's losing confidence, then you get up and you participate. You don't sit on the sidelines."

@nonlinear_james @rwlesq Thanks for sharing. I've skimmed a bit - seems lack of adaptability is what makes some workers so vulnerable in the AI era. We're in early days of AI disruption. In 2-3 years many people will be in survival mode and much of our current discussions will seem petty and privileged.

@GigaTerrapin @cal_gif You're right, but anglo saxon cultural norms prided itself on having no more than 2 or 3 children for generations. Now the averages are down to 1.x kids. Gotta look in the mirror guys. Muslim culture is very practical about how cultural expansion works.

@cal_gif Last I checked, only Muslims name their Son Muhammad. If this really is the most common name for a boy in England right now, then we are seeing the end of the Christian / Catholic England.

@CovfefeAnon @cybelethebest @rwlesq Stats put startup failure at around 90% (it actually may be higher). Most startups have male founders. If most startups had female founders you would say their failure was due to them being female. With men you allow for actual reasons beyond gender for failure. Convenient.

@nonlinear_james @rwlesq What a lovely fantasy. Because men aren't being affected at all by AI related layoffs and most men are producing work that is highly valuable despite the drain on discretionary income most families are experiencing.

Companies are the victims. Women were hired to process all of the extra regulations they were forced to comply with. 95% of all HR as an example only exists to deal with government compliance. And AI can now do all of it. So the first 85% of those jobs taken by AI will be women. But the men get a massive productivity boost and can charge more money for their labor as a result, so women can not work, create families and be happier again.

@cybelethebest @rwlesq No, it's actually basically impossible to imagine that world because the companies with the insane female culture are totally ineffective at their core purpose This is why startups exist and explode in value

@jackh337 @rwlesq @JerseyGeneral34 This really isn't true though, quotas were legalized for government related institutions and contract holders. Private companies pretty much operate as they wish.. sometimes they decided DEI hiring was in their best interest, but it wasn't mandated.

@Promontorium @rwlesq @JerseyGeneral34 You all claim most women and "minorities" are unqualified but never prove it. What are these qualifications that men always have by default but are so difficult for women to have.

@rwlesq @JerseyGeneral34 You're talking about the same people who gave millions to Black Lives Matter, to Ibram Kendi's institute, entire organizations that did absolutely nothing. They warehouse unqualified women and minorities for the same reason they buy paintings. Showing off to other rich liberals

@sealpenguin4 @AnneByTheBeach @janecoaston @allie__voss Not at all. Simply that auto swiping gets women a lot of likes but it's mostly a meaningless metric if it rarely results in long-term relationships or marriage. Men are putting way too much stock in what happens on dating apps to determine desirability.

@WildernessPaths @AnneByTheBeach @janecoaston @allie__voss Are you implying men are supposed to skip the date and go straight to the proposal? Amazing how men get lectured about how we need to lower our standards (but never women), yet when we do just that, suddenly we’re “auto-swiping.” Meanwhile:

This is why I tweet so much about dating The birth rate won’t be solved by married people scolding unmarried people to “just get married and have kids” or “think about your fertility!!!” People are trying, dating is the bottleneck
Melanie Notkin@SavvyAuntie

"Women aged 18-55 say the top reason they aren’t reaching their desired fertility is inability to find a spouse" Been saying this for over 15 years. In fact, I wrote a book about it. (OTHERHOOD, 2014)

@AlexKepfer @allie__voss I'm a woman and think that in general many women need to take a hard, sober look at their own character. Being educated and dressing well is not a replacement for humility, kindness and selflessness. Women aren't good by default, just like men aren't bad by default.

@allie__voss There is a simple explanation and a fairly easy fix. Women need to lower their expectations. I hate to say it because every good woman deserves a handsome prince, but there isn't enough of them out there. But there are enough good-hearted, average dudes.
