@SandyofSuffolk Ex Nurse here. Never afford a house on nurse salary. No matter the amount of saving or bank shifts done. Only bought one 2 years ago bc partner is wealthy. I’m not gonna pretend that people are “lazy”, financially illiterate or stupid, like the sanctimonious bint you are.

My daughter owns her own house in West Sussex. My two stepdaughters own their own houses in Cornwall. My eldest grandson is buying his own house, on his own, in Lancashire. My eldest granddaughter is buying her own flat, on her own, in East Sussex. Because they have a work ethic and aren't spendthrifts.

@SandyofSuffolk @Brillo58 Two very different types of young people: Having a work ethic makes the difference. Being entitled and lazy means you remain envious, bitter, and ignorant.

@SandyofSuffolk Unfortunately my 2 daughters, who work very hard aswell as doing degrees , can't afford to buy a house. They work in childcare, shit pay, live at home dont waste money but still cannot afford to save for a deposit and even if they could they wouldn't be able to afford the bills

A Lifetime of memories don’t pay the bills. UK welfare spending is set to rise by £18 billion to reach £333 billion this year (£153 billion is state pension). This bill is projected to climb to over £400 billion by the end of the decade, exceeding current income tax revenue. HOW DO YOU PROPOSE WE PAY FOR IT?
BB Jones 🩵🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇬🇧@LB250631

@linmeitalks These ‘boomers’ as you so disrespectfully label them often have a lifetime of memories and love cocooned in their home. Their children will inherit in time. If you were my child I would be ashamed at your selfishness and level of entitlement.

Sweden 🇸🇪: Eritrean immigrant taxi driver rapes a 15-year-old girl. Her boyfriend organizes with his 3 older brothers, they trick the foreigner into a nature reserve with the promise of sexual favors, overpower him, strangle him and hang his body from a tree in the forest (trying to stage it as suicide). Arrested. The oldest of the 4 brothers (18 at the time) gets life sentence. The other three brothers and the girl herself get between 3 and 4 years in closed youth detention (the girl and her 15-year-old boyfriend got 3.5 years each for aiding and abetting, as they weren’t at the scene). In appeal, three brothers acquitted of murder, the oldest one gets 7 years instead of life, the others get closed youth care.

🚨Tonda Eckert (Southampton manager) after 2–1 win against Arsenal in the FA Cup quarter-final “We won today because we’re the only team that actually played football. They don’t play—they survive on set pieces, corners, and throw-ins. No real tactics, no identity. And people are calling them Premier League leaders? I still can’t understand it. If they win the league playing like this, it would be a disgrace to football.”

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a single video of a UK cop using a baton on a Muslim troublemaker.

Look at how differently the police handled young football fans yesterday in comparison to the young looters in Clapham. They remembered how to use the batons again!

@_willow80 @SandyofSuffolk You know at most, 0.0005% of the U.K. It’s not sensible to base your political opinions on such a small sample as it doesn’t represent reality, just your life.

Younger generation to pensioners: "Why didn't you save more into a private pension?" Because most women stayed at home to look after your mums and dads and so didn't earn anything, let alone save anything. And your granddads were struggling to pay the 14% mortgage rates. And any 'pin' money your nans earned from little part time jobs was spent spoiling you on days out at the seaside, birthdays and Christmas and slipping your mum and dad a few quid on the sly when they were a bit hard up. Just so you know.

@_willow80 @SandyofSuffolk It’s a documented fact. There are people working hard, saving, trying, and they are getting nothing. Yes it *can* work, but it should almost always work. People aren’t disengaged because they’re lazy, it’s because it’s been made pointless for so many.

@_willow80 @SandyofSuffolk Wake up and listen to people. There isn’t enough. It doesn’t matter if you’re a dedicated genius anymore, hard work no longer guarantees any rewards. I’m one of the lucky ones who has enough and can buy a house, and I can see that. Why can’t you?

@_willow80 @SandyofSuffolk I mean it isn’t. It is absolutely the case now that typical families have 2 parents working. 1 parent on an average wage would not be sufficient.

Our issue is with the triple lock. It was widely understood by experts, policymakers, and its creators to be a temporary measure intended to run for a limited period, rather than a permanent fixture of the UK pension. No other group has this level of security or will have this security when it comes to their pension age. In an ideal world we would love for them to have it, but young people aren’t seeing any meaningful wage increase vs cost of living, they suffer with home insecurity leading to a drop in birth rates and crippling university fees…. When will younger generations be looked after or considered for anything ???
