@DanielLDavis1 Another point is the bombed out tunnels are contaminated with leaked uranium hexafluoride gas or other radioactive waste. Because of that, raid force would have to fight in full MOPP suits. That is a nightmare scenario when you’re surrounded by mountains, drones, and SRBMs.

You cannot b serious. The presence of nuclear material there could “force” SpecOps troops to take down a *mountain* complex? Why in God’s name would we *ever* send our troops into a near impossible mission — where we could lose them all and might still fail — that is NOT needed for our national security? If the President authorizes this, he is not qualified to b the Commander in Chief and should be removed from office. Benjamin Netanyahu said today a “ground component” would b needed to win the war. If Trump gives him our troops, then he will have handed control of the U.S. Armed Forces to fight and die for the leader of a foreign country, and thus should b impeached.

“There may be NO good airstrike option.” Andrea Stricker says the Pickaxe Mountain nuclear facility may be too deep to destroy from the air. “That could force a special forces operation — going inside the complex to eliminate it once the regime is further degraded.”

People often don’t realize that you can’t talk to Asians the same way you talk to Europeans or Westerners. There’s a cultural expectation that historical context, respect, and subtlety are treated differently what might seem casual or humorous in the West is deeply offensive in Japan, In Japan, context, respect, and subtlety guide almost every interaction. Unlike in many Western countries, where directness is valued, Japanese communication often relies on reading between the lines.

Japanese PM Sanae Takaichi's reaction as Trump says "Who knows better about surprise than Japan? Why didn't you tell me about Pearl Habour?" Undoubtedly the worst American diplomatic gaffe in post-war US-Japan history.

The White House said Joe Kent was not involved in ‘any discussions’ leading up to or during the war with Iran. 1) Why was the Director of Counterterrorism excluded from deliberations about war with the, ‘world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism’? Why wasn’t his expertise—including 11 combat deployments to the region & CIA service —considered valuable? 2) If he was excluded over leak concerns, why was he still employed with access to classified information?

@ShawnRyan762 It’s all about the electoral college and pro-Israeli enclaves. In just a few counties hangs all the balance.

“In 1943 there was a group called the American Zionist Emergency Commission. In 1962, Robert Kennedy’s DOJ said register as a foreign agent or we’re disbanding you. So the group shut down and rebranded as AIPAC, saying we are no longer representing a country. Then in 2021, they formed a super PAC called the United Democracy Project. Eighty of our congressmen list AIPAC or the United Democracy Project as the largest primary funder of their campaigns.” @MichaelTLester

From Shaiel’s analysis below 👀 “Independent satellite analysis suggests that a significant portion of the "80% destruction" claimed by the IDF actually hit high-fidelity decoys.”
Shaiel Ben-Ephraim@academic_la

I talked to two Israeli sources on why Iranian launches continue to increase, despite US-Israeli claims that they have destroyed almost all of the launchers. Here is what they said: 1) The 90–95% drop in volume claimed by CENTCOM earlier in the month was probably a temporary lull as Iran repositioned its remaining launchers into hardened sites. Independent satellite analysis suggests that a significant portion of the "80% destruction" claimed by the IDF actually hit high-fidelity decoys. 2) Despite fewer launchers, the lethality per strike has increased. Iran's shift to cluster warheads has allowed a single missile to impact multiple locations simultaneously, compensating for the lower volume of launches 3) Iran has successfully set up mobile, underground units able to fire at steady rates. Iran used that quiet period to move their remaining ~100-120 heavy launchers into "Super-Hardened" facilities 4) Iran is utilizing its Zolfaqar and Dezful road-mobile launchers. These units move from hardened tunnels to pre-surveyed launch spots, fire, and return underground in under 10 minutes, often before coalition drones can re-task for a strike. 5) Because these launching units are decentralized, it is very hard for US and Israeli intelligence to get info on them. Israel and the United States do not have an answer to this problem. That is why they are trying escalation on energy sources instead. But that is backfiring.

President Donald Trump left Japan’s PM Sanae Takaichi looking uncomfortable when he compared US-Israeli strikes on Iran to Japan’s Pearl Harbor attack. Earlier, Takaichi said only Trump “can achieve peace across the world.”

Israel started an illegal war with Iran, attacked its energy infrastructure, and kills anyone who might negotiate an end to it. All while invading Lebanon, displacing a million people, and continuing genocide against Palestinians. The chaos isn’t a miscalculation, it’s the goal.

@sentdefender He might be looking for an off ramp and likewise, President Trump, but I doubt Iran is ready to participate in that cessation of hostilities when they can continue to leverage the Strait closure or their SRBMs and drones as means to drive a wedge between GCC nations and the West.

Two cents here from the back row of this briefing: In convos with veterans, military families and other Americans, I've heard thanks from some for asking hard questions and frustration from others. Our role is to scrutinize each step of the way. The stakes are sky high.

“Right now the goal is we need to tear down everything that’s there and build the next temple. There’s the Al-Aqsa mosque built on top of what they say was the temple. If you read through some of the Talmud, it’s kind of shocking, and there are things in there that people find hard to believe when they first see them.” @MichaelTLester
