@Raincoast @Marine_Valeria @LanceBarrettLen @timescolonist Ask anyone who has fished for Chinook on the west coast of Vancouver Island and the Salish Sea….there is no shortage of Chinook. It’s literally the best fishing in most people’s lifetime. They are almost at infestation levels. Same with Coho.

The Canadian taxpayer spent $20 million to teach Ghanans not to sh*t on the beach. You couldn’t make this up.

@ManyBeenRinsed Welcome to Calgary. 2011 to 2023. House worth basically the same. Add in repairs and maintenance, property tax, etc and it’s a very crappy investment. As it should be.

Imagine thousands of people holding 1M+ purchased properties for decades with no return on investment. This is the harsh reality of many Canadians right now. Nobody is ready. 🇨🇦

@Defenders More chinooks in the Salish sea than anytime in the last 25 years. Ask anyone who drops a line. Infestation levels. Can’t keep em off. They are everywhere. But keep spewing this stuff to the unwashed masses…keeps the donations flowing!!!

The good news is there are efforts to end the salmon famine! We’re working with regional leaders to restore the river systems that salmon and orcas both depend on for survival. Your support will help us bring back the bounty of salmon to the Northwest! dfnd.us/3QURuli

DYK: Chinook salmon range from California to Alaska, even as far across the Pacific as Northern Japan? While many populations are healthy & plentiful, Chinook salmon in the Northwest have been decimated by dams on the rivers they call home! dfnd.us/46udBox

Real estate seemed to suffer more in a purely recessionary environment (1990's) rather than a stagflationary environment (1980's). Am I wrong here? I'd assume this is due to the asset's perception as an inflation hedge.

@danielfoch Here is the problem….govt running massive fiscal deficits. They issue bonds to the market to fund the deficits. The BoC ain’t buying anymore. The market is setting the price. Forget CPI.

@JohnnyEfthimio2 @SteveSaretsky And yes, carbon tax has something to do with price increases. The carbon tax is paid by every supplier along the supply chain, and this cost gets passed along the end purchaser….you the consumer. Just a FYI, companies don’t pay tax, the end consumer does.

@SteveSaretsky Because carbon tax has nothing to do with price increases. There is ZERO competition. Especially when the 3 top grocery stores are located with in several hundred meters from one another. (Their own chain of grocery stores)

@JohnnyEfthimio2 @SteveSaretsky Without the economies of scale and purchasing power of the large groceries chains, grocery prices would be *gasp* higher! Go do a price check on a small local grocery store….you will head right back to Superstore.
