👀 Dear #SANDFam, Friends and @TheSandboxGame / @BGameAlliance / Web3 Communities - wanted to shared with you some health update. TLDR; all went well. I'm recovering and back to work next week 💪 💙 Take care of yourself, health always comes first and don't be late when you identify any signs, listen to your body! Here's what happened: - For the past 2 weeks, I had small black dots and "eye floaters" in my left eye, which is not abnormal as you get older (our eyes are 98% made of water) or have strong myopy bbc.com/future/article… - Last Monday, I started to see some larger shape on the far side but still could work normally. - Tuesday, it got worse, growing further and troubled my vision, making me half blind on the left eye. I came to @EthCC and spoke at various side-events, having normal work day despite symptoms. - Wednesday morning, I had a bad feeling that I shouldn't wait further to get checked, as I was planning to wait to be back in Paris. I did cancel all meetings to head to the opthalmic emergencies service at hospital in Brussels, waited 2 hours to be examined and they diagnosed me a retinal detachment on my left eye, which needed urgent eye surgery to prevent blindness. It couldn't be done there until late week, so went straight back to Paris. Turns out if not urgently treated I could be blind and lose sight 😱 - Thursday morning, I received surgery treatment at the specialized Eye Emergency Hospital Adolphe de Rothschild in Paris, they are matter expert in this area and the best 24/7 place for treatment in Paris.

Fooatingcapy is doing well with social media detox. Coming back to have a peek at whats said here makes more sense that we are producing unhappy degens. Everyone is susceptible to social media. Its an addiction. And its not that easy to escape. Not as simple as touching grass. But it’s a starting point to identify it. Love y’all ☺️

we’ve gotta have something new to pull in new users/holders for the second half of the cycle and it’s not going to be “moar memecoins” while that meta probably isn’t dead, i don’t think it has enough broad or sustainable appeal to drive reflexive momentum to add high hundreds of billions or trillions to crypto market cap, and overall market cap of these things has actually been pretty small over the past year maybe lower interest rates and ETFs will be enough, but idk so what will it be?

@__proper to me it didn't feel like they had traction like the pfps. I might've missed it. Can you name the top 3 gen art projects in your opinion?

@floatingcapy eh, before runes for sure. gen art was the main premise of on-chain art pre-ordinals so it was an easy transition to bitcoin. supply/releases far outweighing demand for it now though

feels like ordinals are quickly approaching the phase of collector exhaustion for generative art venues that eth has been in for years now. i'm aware of ~3 new ones launching soon-ish but today now we have singular, gamma, gmdao/gmscribe, vivid, osura, function, the list goes on. that's not even mentioning platforms like ordinalsbot and others that support such releases from time to time. me thinks that unless you're offering something truly unique and/or bitcoin-native, the vast majority of which aren't, you're going to be in for a rough time soon enough. i'm all for competition creating better artist and collector experiences though, as the current scene still feels a bit lacking across the board

@CryptoGarga Are builders able to make shit right after the trip? Or is this expected at a later date!

For Otherside's First Trip we had 4,500 concurrent players. Second Trip: 7,200. Next month we're doing something a little different. Otherside's Project Dragon will feature similar mass density numbers, but this time we're adding action gameplay. Guns, grenades. Capture a point and defend it. With a thousand+ people on your team. Will it be janky at first? Probably. Will it be chaotic? For sure. We'll be iterating on this model continuously, holding a new Project Dragon event with more features every single month. More importantly: All the components we use to build Project Dragon, we're going to bake that content and those blueprints down for other builders to use and make stuff with the ODK, our extension of the MSquared World Builder. We make shit. We give it to you. You make shit too. And if any of us ever hit it right, like WarCraft III's custom games / "use map settings" birthed countless stand-alone games and entire genres like MOBAs. Then we're off to the races. Because web3 rails make modding, custom games, monetization, owning part of a network, etc all so, so much better than the legacy web2 model.

A sexy new trailer of @MSquared_io and the experiences we've seen emerge naturally in the Metaverse when you get huge numbers of real humans in one place. + 🧵with some alpha as we near access to more devs... youtu.be/55R5J0qPOfc

The recent Royals UNAT mint by @kingpunkape and @TheBlockRunner has given me a big idea for a cool way to do a mint in the future on @mscribeio. I do not have the technical ability to do this, but I'm an idea guy. Let me know what you think, or if you can expand upon the base idea. An Rpg minting experience for UNATs on @mscribeio. Stats weigh in on whether you get a contested block. Str Dex Agi Chr Luck WL participants get early access to map in order to battle and grow their stats for a minting stat buff, a premint experience. WL users mint at the same time as everyone else but with upped stats. Charisma affects mint prices. Higher charisma means discounted price. Luck obviously affects your luck in battling for a block. Turn based battle the monster in the block to win the mint. If two people click the block at the same time, the WL participant gets to battle the monster for the block, otherwise they users battle each other, then the winner battles the monster. If the minter loses, they lose the block fee and the block goes back up for grabs. If the minter wins, they get the block and the transaction goes through based on fees. The minters wallet has a cooldown if they lose the battle. What do you think? #unats #nat #ordinals #tapprotocol

@axesilvo That might turn into a "Blur" situation where everybody is wash trading and flooring top-tier Ordinals collections for airdrop points or something.

The most successful traders of NFTs and Ordinals are not loyal at all, because they want to make money, and they do. Liquidity cycles for NFTs and Ordinals are short-lived. There is limited time to sell before becoming a long-term bagholder.

@axesilvo I agree. A few will stand the test of time, but even so, the liquidity will dry up for months/years at a time just like with NFTs once the music stops. These are inherently illiquid assets.

I genuinely can’t get myself excited about the current meta. SocialFi and airdrop farming are dull and brain numbing. Wake me up when we cycle back to ordinals, NFTs and Web 3.0 gaming 🥱

Ordinals went from a platform of experimentation and innovation to a platform of people mainly trying to reinvent memes, and rehash the old pfp stuff. This is the state of "main stream" ordinals right now, and I feel this is not going to end well in the medium term. At the other side there are people who are developing new and bitcoin specific things such as DMT, NAT, and BRC-420, and more. I hope we see these ecosystems bloom more, because for non-meme coiners, meme coins are boring and dull.
