Why do we only emphasize farming when we talk about land restitution? Who says black people don't want to build resorts, entertainment and gaming places? What is this vision deficit in government? Listening to Paul Mashatile speak in Thabazimbi.

Neither does Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, etc. Stop this thing of wanting South Africa to do things your countries dont do.

So sad that to this day SA doesn’t have a designated SADC corridor at International Arrivals in their airports. Not even a mention of the word SADC! Talk of SADC regional integration and solidarity when the power house itself is the only exception in this regard.

@BrendaWardle @Inqubeko_news @CoruscaKhaya I suspect the lack of continuity disturbs them, one moment you are interpreting, the the next ten questions you are not then boom interpretation is needed.

A third interpreter has now been brought in at the Madlanga Commission. The first one last week made too many mistakes, so Sergeant Nkosi kept on criticizing her, and she was replaced. Today in the morning they brought in a new one 🤝 However, the one who came in this morning also made mistakes, and Nkosi complained about him as well. So he has also been replaced, and they have now brought in a new one again 🎙️

Busi Mavuso wrote a nonsensical article about manufacturing. She blames Chinese car imports for killing local manufacturing of German vehicle and wants us to impose tariffs on China. She further claims that ‘Just Energy Transition’ would boost local manufacturing. This is all a load of bollocks. Local car manufacturers or assemblers are suffering not because of Chinese import but simply because of their extortionist pricing. There was a time that cars we export were cheaper outside than they were here. Chinese car manufacturers are offering value for money. That is how capitalism works: Competition! The argument that government should protect local manufacturers in order to protect jobs is a dishonest argument. The Chinese dealership network employs are much more than all these local manufacturers combined. Moreover, these Chinese companies are beginning to set up their manufacturing base here. The demand for government intervention, by people who preach free market and privatisation, in order to rescue capitalism is preposterous. Mavuso’s view that renewables are a necessary impetus for the manufacturing sector is not based on science but a dishonest gospel meant to benefit independent power producers (IPPs). Mavuso represents Business Leadership SA, which advocates for IPPs and cannot be objective on energy issues. What she fails to comprehend is the reality that the manufacturing sector cannot run on renewables. Germany has over 50% of installed energy capacity as renewables yet failed to sustain its manufacturing industries when the supply of cheap Russian gas came to a halt. A number of manufacturing plants shut down as a result. It is pure fantasy that by ramping up renewables it would boost industrialisation and our manufacturing capacity. The media needs to stop elevating these nonsensical opinion pieces by so-called business leaders.

Crime isn’t a sustainable career choice in KZN anymore. You will be eCBL by 20. There’s a new school of committed principals, who are leading a wave of excellence, performance and professionalism in how schools are lead and managed. Parents are being made to parent by these schools! Follow their social media pages at the village (FB) for inspiration, information, humour and the comments sections. It’s beautiful to watch. Exhibit A last week 😂

I don’t know what’s happening to KZN schools, particularly the public schools in township and rural areas, but I am very delighted to see this. More than half of the schools in my kasi got 90%+ pass rate with only one in the entire town getting below 80%. That was never the case a decade ago.

We need to stop this nonsensical talk of reconciliation. The victims of oppression cannot be the ones preaching reconciliation when perpetrators of apartheid continue to resist transformation.

We cannot ignore the large quantity of medication found in the Limpopo bus accident. The bus was heading to Zimbabwe. When we say a syndicate is taking free medical supplies from South African public hospitals and clinics to Zimbabwe, we are labeled as crazy and xenophobic.

I met a self-proclaimed "energy expert" with an economics degree and MBA. When I asked why he didn’t call himself an economist, he gave me a death stare. It hit me: this is why energy security is a mess. "Expert-by-proximity" doesn’t cut it—economics credentials don’t equate to energy expertise. Energy is complex, involving geopolitics and technology, not just spreadsheets. Excluding the Stellenbosch professor and UCT's Senior Scholar, my favorite energy experts are Professor Mamphweli, Peter Bruce (@Bruceps), @CowansView, @chrisyelland. @BusiMavuso2 Andre De Ruyter, Professor Malekgapuru Makgoba and Jan Oberholzer. Their insights have been invaluable, and @Eskom_SA plant breakdowns dropping to around 6,000MW—the best performance since 2013—reflects their expertise.
