@CollinRugg This is horrifying. It’s unnecessarily alienating an absolutely essential ally. It’s also bewilderingly ignorant (Japan and the U.S. weren’t allies before WWII). And yes, I get it’s a joke, but if Japan doesn’t take it that way, the intent doesn’t matter.

This is beyond the pale. It’s irrelevant - the reporter wasn’t born then, it’s not like PH was his fault. It’s ignorant. Japan wasn’t our ally, obviously. It’s stupid - it alienates a critical Indo-Pacific ally. And the question is completely legitimate.

@HunterStires The required electrical load for a ship of that size is also astronomical. Unless we’re putting a reactor on there, I’m not sure how it’s feasible. (Oh, and we can’t even build a ship the *FRENCH* navy was able to, so how are we gonna build this one?)

This is the opposite reason why people have concerns about BBGX. Speaking for myself, I am concerned that it’s too large and expensive, is under-armed for its size and expense, and will result in a fleet that in aggregate is smaller, more targetable, and less survivable. A large gun and missile armed capital ship makes a reasonable degree of sense; the BBGx concept as presented at its current size and price point does not appear to make sense, and I would greatly prefer a version that does.

The person could commit *murder* (state crime) and not be issued a federal judicial warrant for removal. Stupid request.
