Die israelische Analystin Orit Perlov hat zur gezielten Tötung von Kindern iranischer und libanesischer Führungspersonen aufgerufen. Perlov, Mitarbeiterin am Institut für nationale Sicherheitsstudien (INSS) in Tel Aviv, forderte am Sonntag in einem inzwischen gelöschten Post auf der Plattform X eine Abkehr von politischer Rationalität hin zu „religiöser Grausamkeit“. In dem Beitrag nannte sie explizit die Kinder hochrangiger iranischer Funktionäre sowie libanesischer Akteure als Angriffsziele. Unter Bezugnahme auf die biblische „Plage der Erstgeborenen“ schrieb sie, den Eltern stehe der Schutz ihrer Kinder nicht zu. Diese Vorgehensweise sei im Libanon bisher noch nicht erwägt worden, kritisierte sie. Ähnliche Taktiken seien bereits zuvor in Gaza angewandt worden. Die sogenannte Plage der Erstgeborenen ist die letzte der biblischen Plagen im Buch Exodus, durch die Gott die Ägypter strafte. Demnach starben in einer Nacht alle Erstgeborenen Ägyptens, darunter der Sohn des Pharaos, während die Israeliten verschont blieben. Die Äußerungen von Perlov lösten international scharfe Kritik aus. Das INSS hat sich zu den Aussagen seiner Forscherin bisher nicht geäußert.
