End all property taxes, period! Who agrees?

@brixwe How about this: Once a person retires, their property tax NEVER GOES UP AGAIN. It can go down, but NEVER UP. That should be acceptable to all but the greediest of liberal spending Democrats.

@brixwe Lets truly be a free country, allow us to truly own the land we purchase. Property tax should be a set amount based upon an initial value assessment of the land. When you pay it off the land is truly owned by you.

@brixwe Annually recurring taxes on anything is a crime by the government. I paid taxes on it when I bought it! Taxes are only supposed to be levied when money changes hands! At the very least, people over the age of retirement should be exempt on their primary residence.

@brixwe Make no mistake about it, property taxes and inheritance taxes are about making it difficult for the poor and working class to build generational wealth. Which is all the more hilarious considering that the elitists who make these rules all come from wealthy dynastic families.

@brixwe Totally agree! The majority of tax money is used on schools. After 65, most people do not have children in school, so it becomes a penalty.

@brixwe Sounds good but unless they cut spending, younger people will just have to pay more. So ultimately everyone would still pay the same over their lifetime. This would only benefit current seniors, who didn't pay more when they were younger.

@brixwe @Ms_Betty_Bop Taxes should be earmarked for specific expenditures & each should be voted on separately. Bonds (borrowing) should only be allowed for extraordinary events, like war. Borrowing should require the vote of the citizenry, not politicians.
