@RoseFle54723126 I agree, and if oil supply is normal by the end of the year stimulus now could avoid a recession
English

@AndyDrewLyons Andrew, if that oil isn't released from the strait they will be cutting everything. Trust and believe.
English

@MarieTBrady @EmployRightsIE The politicians might get jobs with vulture funds after Irish politics
English

@EmployRightsIE If this is true Government should have introduced legislation to exclude multiple purchases of new houses. Single individual buyers only.
English

@iamPB @EmployRightsIE Irish banks were given stricter rules, deposit ratios, for borrowing as part of the bail out
English

@EmployRightsIE Central bank lending rules mean that people qualify for much lower mortgages than their rent is, for no good reason. Reform is needed.
English

@WatchdogTh96012 The government can't consider that any of their huge spending, they introduced, is wasteful or doesn't provide cost benefit to Ireland and can be cut
English

In 2025 Ireland spent €2.2 Billion on Immigration.
In 2025 Ireland spent €810 Million on Foreign Aid.
In 2025 Ireland spent €11 Billion on NGOs.
Now here they are crying about €750M package for struggling IRISH FAMILIES & WORKERS.
This BS should not be tolerated.

@murph17398 @Independent_ie They can't comprehend that any of their spending, which has increased enormously, is wasteful or has little benefit to the Irish people
English

@Independent_ie You cant say somethings impossible when it simply requires spending less money on things the public do not want/have not voted for.
They literally threatening to punish working people for not wanting to be exploited during a crisis

@Independent_ie Only if the government thinks that there is nowhere else to cut spending while there is plenty

@caulmick Has there ever been a conflict of interest identified in Irish politics?

@_PeterRyan Looking into a potential significant global economic turmoil..
None of the Irish government spending can be cut?
none is wasteful?
all spending provides cost
benefit to the Irish people?
Ideological thinking.

@rachelbsol18 @LibramoonSnoopy Yes but we could, we have the highest concentration of AI talent in the world. We have always been outnumbered and still won every war. It needs intention and policy

I think one of Israel’s biggest PR problems on social media is that it’s heavily outnumbered by its enemies - and those enemies don’t play the rules.
Israel and Jewish people generally stick to the rules and operate honestly. We have some great influencers, yes, but we don’t have massive bot farms or troll armies pumping out propaganda 24/7, flooding the internet and indoctrinating people with their narrative…
English

@PwNeilo The ideology is that all existing government spending is appropriate, not wasteful, benifits the Irish people and is too important to cut. Reality is very different.
English

@IBB_INVEST @TonightVMTV Low income people will have to pay VAT on all their meals and travel costs to work.
The top 10% earners likely charge these as business expenses avoiding the cost and the tax.
English

@AndyDrewLyons @TonightVMTV So what taxes do the poors have to pay that the rich don’t??

English

@IBB_INVEST @TonightVMTV There's also a whole bunch of taxes that are not income tax
English

@TonightVMTV In Ireland the top 10% of earners pay 63% of all income taxes.
The bottom 30% of earners contribute a measly 1.3% of income taxes.
🤡 🤡 🤡
English

@TonightVMTV At no stage has the government considered cutting spending that is wasteful or provides no benefit to Ireland
English

@Dublinmarti @IrishPrideIRL You're in denial. I am in Australia like hundreds of thousands of young Irish. Irish nurse can get a mortgage here not bled dry

@Independent_ie Simon said the government cant reduce taxes and spend more... Of course cutting spending is not his radar, this government has increased spending (and gifting) hugely and they can't recognise they need to cut spending. There is plenty of waste and spending that can be cut.

Spain just went ahead and cut its vat rate from 21%to 8% without waiting for EU. Also remember, the Irish Government had no trouble *standing up* to EU re the Apple Tax. #Choices
