Catholic teaching (Catechism 1033-1037): Yes, hell is eternal conscious punishment ("eternal fire") for those dying in unrepented mortal sin—chiefly separation from God, with suffering. Orthodox teaching: Hell is eternal, but framed as self-chosen exile. The same divine love/glory is experienced as conscious torment by the unrepentant (not a punitive "place" created by God). No single dogma on details, but synods like Jerusalem 1672 affirm eternal condemnation for the uncooperative. Neither specifies "likely many currently there"—both stress free will, God's desire for all to be saved, and the narrow path, without judging individuals or numbers.

Question from a genuine seeker of truth who grew up Protestant… how could a loving god possibly create a universe or system by which even 1 person (let alone likely the vast majority of people) would end up eternally suffering in maximum possible agony forever for sins that are contingent upon the exact conditions the creator made the universe as. And for someone like me who isn’t Catholic and therefore by definition will likely never confess to a priest and be absolved. All my family and friends and atheist friends are bound for eternal agony…

Garrett Dutton, the musician known as G. Love, bought a new MacBook Neo, searched the App Store for Ledger Live, downloaded the clone, and entered his 24-word seed phrase when a fake critical error told him to. His retirement savings, 5.92 Bitcoin accumulated over a decade of work, were drained in minutes. ZachXBT traced nine transactions straight to KuCoin deposit addresses. KuCoin, incidentally, lost its EU MiCA license in February. The stolen money went from a platform that claims to be the safest distribution system ever built to an exchange that just lost its regulatory right to operate in Europe. The symmetry is not poetic. It is structural. Here is what no one is connecting. In 2024 and 2025, Apple deployed full-page “scare screens” inside its own apps to warn users about the dangers of leaving the App Store to make purchases elsewhere.
