A guy who is reportedly a former CalTech mechanical engineer, who has a master’s degree in computer science from CalState, and did a research fellowship at NASA decided to take a train ride across the country and the best plan he could come up with to kill the President was charging a checkpoint with a couple guns? He also reportedly had a room booked at the sold out hotel so he likely planned this attack for long time. It's certainly possible that he's just another mentally ill leftist but I feel like a mechanical engineer could have come up with a better (worse I suppose...) plan with that much time.
