$537 is mine. $571 is a promise. expirations on @boros_fi confuses almost everyone. here's what's actually happening. my BTC position(see picture) expires in 5 days. and these two numbers mean completely different things. - the $537 - collected funding, already paid out, sitting in my balance. that's real. - the $571 - that's the market telling me what it expects i'll collect over the next 5 days if current rates hold. not a guarantee. a forecast dressed up as a number. implied APR repricing is not yield. it's a prediction. so at any moment i have exactly two choices: 1⃣ sell now - lock in the implied value, done, no rate risk 2⃣ hold to expiry - collect whatever funding actually pays out, could be more, could be less the question isn't complicated. do i believe funding stays elevated for 5 more days? if yes - i sit and ignore the $571 until it proves itself. if no - i sell and take the market's price instead of gambling on rates. the screen shows you expectations. your wallet shows you reality. they're not the same thing until expiry.
