He's a great player, he'll run all day, and he'll be incredibly hard to replace but his ability on the ball is no where near a 100m player or what you think it is

@klionring @NUFCMurph I haven't said it isn't a step up and Spurs aren't bigger. But we can't be losing our best players to a team like Spurs which are a very similar playing level to us and have finish 17th the last two seasons. So just relax

Not sure i'm convinced by this whole "selling to Spurs would be damaging" argument. They're still a much bigger club than us regardless of recent shite seasons and if they're willing to pay what we want, which Man Utd aren't. Then why does it matter?

@WarrenSharpe @NUFCMurph It's the price I'm not sure Spurs pay and I'd be shocked if Man city etc don't come in once they find out the price. But it has to be close if not more than 100m. Are Spurs really going to pay that?

@NUFCMurph @DaveC1992 You guys are still big I think we edge it on revenue and other things. Basically had the same final result of last season both don’t have Europe. This is spurs tho the owners talk the big game but never actually back it up. I’d be surprised if we got the deal done

At what point in time did it become acceptable for clubs to talk to players before approaching their employers first? Is tapping up just not a thing anymore?

@sportingminute I was of the same opinion but I'm not sure I can accept losing players to Spurs even with the higher wages and London. I don't think it sends the right message

Maybe I’m just mad, but I’m so relaxed about this summer, maybe even excited. I think it’s more about the unknown being exciting? We’ve watched this same group of players, like Tonali, Gordon, Tino struggle for 18 months now since the cup final, and it’s all gone so stagnant. We were at our best when signing younger and more unproven players from Europe, and then turning them into stars. Isak, Bruno, Tonali, Botman pre-injury. Sell the likes of Gordon, Tonali for double what we paid and get back to what we did well. Young, hungry, eager to prove themselves.

@NUFCMurph They've finished 17th two seasons in a row. Being a stepping stone to Arsenal, Liverpool, Man city etc is fine but we want to be competing with clubs like Spurs going forward. If it was Villa would the same opinion be said? They're just as big as Spurs are

If you have read anything I’ve written about Tonali, I think he will go this summer. Some inside the club think he will go but somebody has to bid for him and they have to pay the right money. That hasn’t happened yet. Plain and simple #nufc

@NUFCThreatLevel If we got around 100m for him I do think it's a good deal but I am worried about all of these players leaving all at once and the amount of goals we've lost from the team over the last year. Especially if Barnes went as well

I’ve noticed too that whoever people think we’re selling is suddenly ‘shite’. Top player. We can step it up and lay into the entire country, but he’s still probably Italy’s best player which is still a canny deal.

If, and it is a big if, Tonali does go to Spurs, I am more than happy for people to dust off their posts about the #NUFC project being dead and we have no pull, because it would be hard to argue against it.

Nickson may have been gutted after last summer when Wilson got the job ahead of him after being passed over for Mitchell 12 months earlier... Also Howe The Younger getting the incomings brief last year won't have helped. Probably saw he'd gone as far as he could here #nufc

@EggusMaximus At least we've gone away from giving him all the power. This whole situation has been created because he had way too much power and wasn't ruthless enough with the squad. I still don't see the on field issues being sorted just by starting a new season but hoping to be surprised
