In Ethereum, being a validator isn’t just about being online it’s about being fast. Every block happens within a short time window, and inside that window, validators need to receive data, evaluate options, and act. If data arrives even slightly late, you start losing opportunities. The interesting part is how small improvements can have real impact. Reducing network latency by just 50–150 milliseconds can increase validator APR by up to ~2%. The reason is simple: faster data propagation gives validators more usable time within each slot. That extra time allows them to wait a bit longer to observe MEV bids and choose a more profitable block, without increasing risk. It’s essentially a timing advantage like staying a little longer in an auction and catching a higher bid before it closes. This is where @get_optimum comes in. By using RLNC-based propagation, Optimum improves how data moves across the network, reducing delays and unnecessary retransmissions. The result is faster delivery, more efficient bandwidth usage, and effectively more decision time for validators.
