@nkokonjeru @Londonist Precisely! It offers ‘a new way to cross the Thames’ at a time when @MayorofLondon wants us to use active travel yet no bikes allowed. As for pollution, this will come from 1000s extra vehicles predicted by @TfL including bigger, heavier HGVs. @SilvertownTn @LDN_environment

Unfortunately @TfL are still not listening and rarely make announcements on the train as it pulls into Cutty Sark DLR. I recently spoke to an operator to ask if he’d been briefed. It was a yes but he shrugged his shoulders, had forgotten. An automated announcement is best.

Bumblebees can only fly for 40 minutes between feeds. So growing just one nectar-rich plant could be the pit-stop that saves a bee. Helping bees, butterflies, moths, and other pollinators is also a great way to connect with nature!

Why London needs a micro de-paving revolution 🧵
We need a scheme to de-pave & green small (less than 50 sq. metres) currently impermeable areas in London. This is illustrated by some of the *100’s* of such areas I saw on a 20 min cycle through one part of the city in LB Newham

TfL have now corrected the link to email them on this consultation. Time to tell them that opening Silvertown to general traffic, with or without toll, locks in increased emissions for decades - so they should make it active travel and PT only. @philsturgeon @transportac
