It is truly outrageous that, at a time when the regime is executing PMOI members inside Iran, airing this video with individuals whose links to the regime, and whose clearly agenda-driven efforts in alignment with it, are already well known, amounts to nothing less than direct assistance to the regime. How is it that when Ukrainian women and men rescued their children from bombardment and enemy invasion and sent them abroad, they were rightly praised as heroes, but when it comes to the PMOI, parents who, with immense and unimaginable sacrifice, sent their children to safety in Europe are suddenly accused of “brainwashing” and worse? I would have expected greater sensitivity and balance, especially at a time when political prisoners are being executed in Iran. You are actively promoting someone who has, through alignment with the regime and divisive politics, helped bring Iran to this disastrous point. And out of the 900 children who were transferred, only a handful have been gathered around this narrative, individuals whose prior links to the regime have already been well established, to repeat a predetermined line. Not a single word from you about the execution of political prisoners in recent days. That is what is truly shocking. Mario, his is honestly a very embarrassing post. 😂 I was one of those children. As a matter of fact, I was born in Camp Ashraf. Out of nowhere, after weeks that this video and narrative came out on the internet, you suddenly push this narrative, based on what exactly? Where is the evidence? Where is the verification? Since when do 5 or 6 individuals suddenly represent nearly 1,000 people? We were 800–900 so-called “children” back then in Camp Ashraf, homebase of the MEK. What is the relevance of platforming a tiny handful who don’t even represent 1% of us? Come interview me. Come speak to me. Tell my story, and the story of the hundreds you are conveniently ignoring. Because here’s the reality you’re skipping. There are 994 other kids that were there and are thanking the MEK and their leadership to bring us all out of a war-zone and relocate safely 1.000 kids, instead of keeping them under bombs. They should be grateful. As many others here, I also personally know some of the individuals you’re platforming. I know their stories. I know their connections. I know the level of distortion and outright falsehoods being pushed and them being in contact with agents of the Intelligence Ministry of Iran (MOIS). So let’s not pretend this is some balanced or representative narrative, it isn’t. It’s selective, it’s misleading, and frankly, it’s intellectually lazy. The only accurate line in that entire video? That Iranians, anyone with basic awareness, see Shah supporters for what they are. A bunch of losers that try to discredit an opposition movement simply because their parents chose to fight a regime fulltime and didn’t choose them. Then blaming the MEK. The timing on this is impeccable! As people of Iran have continuously said Shah and Mullahs are 2 sides of the same coin and continuously support one another. So why cover this now? after 6 people have been executed for affiliation with Mojahedin in one week? after it has shaken Iranian society, seeing their steadfastness, bravery, virtues and truly show casing who Mojahedin are? Being with Mojahedin isn't hereditary, it is a choice, so if you really want to know who are the children of Mojahedin, they are the Vahid Bani Amerians, Babak Alipours and Pouya Ghobadis, they are Saba Haftbaradarans, born in Evin prison, one of those children transferred from Iraq, growing up in Germany, who made the choice to join the MEK in Iraq and killed in Ashraf on April 8, 2011 As one of those 'children' transferred out of Iraq in the midst of war, I am forever grateful to the Mojahedin for bringing every single one of us out to safety- all over 800 children! and stop spreading propaganda "kidnapped"?! Since when is transfer of children at the request of their parents to remove children from harms way in a war kidnapping?! To Swedish society To the Authorities of the Kingdom of Sweden To the Members of the Swedish Parliament Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing in my capacity as a journalist and human rights activist to express my deep concern regarding the recent meetings between Swedish officials and Mr. Reza Pahlavi, as well as the plans for him to deliver a speech in the Swedish Parliament. It must be clearly stated that Mr. Reza Pahlavi does not represent the people of Iran and holds no democratic legitimacy to speak on their behalf. Iranian society is composed of a diverse range of ethnic groups, political movements, and civic actors, none of whom have collectively recognized him as their representative. Furthermore, his recent statements suggesting the issuance of military orders to attack Iranian Kurdistan are deeply alarming. Such rhetoric is reminiscent of the 1979 jihad fatwa issued by Ruhollah Khomeini against Kurdistan, which led to widespread massacres, extrajudicial executions, and systematic human rights violations. The repetition of such language signals a dangerous potential for the reproduction of violence in Iran’s future. Additionally, the use of slogans such as “Death to the three corrupt: the clerics, the leftists, and the Mujahedin” reflects the normalization of hatred, political exclusion, and violence against opponents. This approach stands in direct contradiction to the fundamental principles of democracy, pluralism, and human rights, and raises serious concerns about the emergence of a new form of secular authoritarianism in a post-Islamic Republic Iran. It must also be emphasized that the future of Iran should be determined solely by the people of Iran through transparent, democratic, and inclusive processes. Any attempt to legitimize individuals or actors who lack popular mandate and genuine commitment to freedom and democracy—especially behind closed doors and with the support of foreign governments—constitutes a disregard for the suffering, dignity, and future of the people of Iran. Such actions risk reinforcing the perception that certain actors are motivated not by democratic aspirations, but by a desire for revenge linked to the events of 1979. In this context, providing an official platform for Mr. Pahlavi within Swedish democratic institutions is not only inconsistent with Sweden’s stated commitment to human rights, freedom of expression, and democratic values, but may also contribute to legitimizing dangerous and undemocratic narratives. I respectfully urge you to reassess such engagements and to refrain from facilitating platforms that contradict democratic principles and values.
