Not to be THAT dictionary, but… It’s ‘per se,’ not ‘per say.’ It’s ‘dog-eat-dog world,’ not ‘doggy-dog world.’ It’s ‘hunger pangs,’ not ‘hunger pains.’ It’s ‘one and the same,’ not ‘one in the same.’ It's 'buck naked,' not 'butt naked.'

@Artemisfornow If they had worked effectively and had effective leadership, plus management of poor practices, they wouldn’t have to be present in the office to deliver what’s needed. Nothing has changed, so they still need to go in.

Absolutely pathetic! Mandatory attendance of 3 days a week isn’t possible because of the Iran war? Meanwhile everyone outside of London has to figure out how to juggle raising fuel prices with no efficient public transport. We aren’t all in this together. As usual 🤡

British kids are now copying the trend of riding their bikes into traffic and swerving at the last minute, this is going to end in tears.

@dvorak360 @GriftReport Mitigate, yes. Pay for? In my opinion, absolutely not. Of course nothing I have said would imply that I personally think drivers can drive into cyclists being tears, because I don’t. But with twattery on the increase, you can surely see why it’s getting that reaction?

@JMC_Starbug @GriftReport See the attitude of an awful lot of respondants to this thread. Realise that there is an obligation on drivers to mitigate hazards. See how many twats think that the rider being a twat means they can drive into them...

@IntercityYouth @MarcherReborn Sure; if it doesn’t matter how many die for victory. Civilians will suffer the most. ‘Now all the corpses that litter that battlefield can just lie there safe under the knowledge that they snuffed it under a flag of peace and can now happily decompose in a land of freedom’.

Beetlejuice turns 38 today. Michael Keaton is only on-screen for 17 minutes, yet he completely defines the movie. Tim Burton’s first choice was Sammy Davis Jr., but Keaton’s manic, unpredictable energy made Beetlejuice iconic. “Now whadda you think?... you think I'm qualified?”

@DreyfusJames @BBC There’s loads of places that don’t take dogs - and I mean LOADS (and that’s fine); it’s hardly reasonable for people with extreme phobias to be presented as the voice of reason in pieces like this.

“What do you think? Has it all gone a bit too far?” The only thing that’s “gone a bit too far” is the BBC’s fervent desire to convince us that there are “too many dog-friendly spaces.” So here’s what I think, if you really want my opinion, @BBC Fuck off with your gaslighting.

No tbh they did bring here home. It wasn't enough to remove two officers from duties to retrieve the medication they had forgot to take with them. They allowed two officers to bring here home a few hours later. Thank god there wasn't much going on in West Cumbria for around 5 hours that morning which needed the officers attention, eh??

This has always blown my mind! Arrested at 1am, driven 40 miles up the coast, locked in a cell for 11 hours and then after an 11 MINUTE interview she was released, quite rightly, with no further action. She was a frail 70 year old woman!! how can this ever be justified 🥲How did no one involved speak up at any point abuot how utterly shambolic, cruel and inappropriate it was?? @TheGriftReport This is exactly why I fucking hate potholes!!! This is how I lost my father in 1983. He got thrown off his motorbike after hitting one and he got launched into a tree he died by the roadside after a ruptured spleen. My mum was also injured and left disabled. I was 3 years old.

🚨 COUNCIL POTHOLE KILLS BIKER, 43, AFTER BEING FLAGGED FOR REPAIR TWICE IN FIVE MONTHS! Andrew “Andy” Freakley was overtaking a van on his motorbike in Stoke-on-Trent on September 25 when he slammed into a ONE-METRE-SQUARE crater, catapulted into the path of an oncoming Volvo and died at the scene. The killer pothole had been reported to Stoke-on-Trent City Council on May 7 and AGAIN on September 11 – yet they waited 154 DAYS before finally patching it on October 8, claiming it was “lower risk”. Stepfather Kevin Freakley: “Why wasn’t it fixed sooner?” Tributes pour in for the “loveable rogue with a heart of gold” dad, son and partner. Coroner confirms the crash was unavoidable. Roads falling apart… and councils don’t care until someone dies!
