@NidhCthon @ariamt_ @lukeross256 Yes, women absolutely should shut up about men making them feel uncomfortable. This is very progressive and forward thinking.

@_ChrisLepkowski @gavin_poulton Not sure why he's come out with this now? Nestor's way or his way, he can't hide from the fact he took Carlos' team and made it instantly worse in every area. He just comes across bitter every time he speaks now.

@OBEhizele It’s the way that they always screw up the details that I find so funny. Black guy in a football shirt? Absolutely common. A Sikh selling the programme? Come on.

I was going to do a thread on this, but I'd rather enjoy the World Cup. This Britain does exist. The problem is that many people have never encountered it, so they assume it's fictional. Equally, it cannot be assumed to be representative of the national experience. It isn't.
Drew Pavlou 🇦🇺🇺🇸🇺🇦🇹🇼@DrewPavlou

Burberry ad for the World Cup is good example of @kunley_drukpa theory that Pink Pantheress Britain represents flip side of YooKay Britain Pink Pantheress Britain is where everyone is attractive, aesthetic and assimilated - there are no beheadings/grooming gangs, you don't see Salafi jihadi Dawah bros screaming at people, there is a great deal of continuity with the native British people and their culture, you see Jamaican super model for Burburry nodding approvingly at rough charismatic white working class British football coach. It doesn't actually exist but it's what Keir Starmer thinks multiculturalism in Britain looks like. This is why they don't understand the anger and frustration that exists throughout Britain, they never encounter @MythoYookay aesthetics in their day to day lives. They assume that you must be criticising Pink Pantheress and assimilated Jamaican models for Burburry

@qunfuz2 Any Syrian involvement in conflict would reduce the numbers of refugees returning. This may not be a concern in the US, but it definitely is in Europe.

I am sticking to my presumption that al-Sharaa is too intelligent to fight Hizbulllah in Lebanon on behalf of the US and the Zionist occupier, no matter how intense the pressure. He must know what a disaster that would be for Syria.
Levant24@Levant_24_

Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa is set to visit Washington on Sunday, June 14, after receiving an invitation from US President Donald Trump, according to a diplomatic source cited by Syria TV, with AFP confirming the same date.

Islamism is ultimately not compatible with any kind of progressive or left-wing politics. It's just not. Advocating against war in the Middle East should not mutate into sympathy for Islamist politics. Full stop.

@secondtierpod The players bought into what he was trying to do, but he didn't understand the Championship + Championship players* and his in-game management was woeful. *Plenty of Championship players don't look anything special in training. But they have the skills to see out a match.

When Iraq emerged from the Iran-Iraq War as the main challenger to Israel, possessing the most powerful Arab military, an entire cascade of lies, propaganda & distortions were unleashed by the US, Israel & Gulf Arab states to manufacture consent to destroy Iraq. They succeeded.
The War Journal@TheWarJournal

Veteran Saudi spin doctor Dawood Al-Shiryan admits he promoted "lies" during the 1990 "Kuwait crisis" with Iraq, publishing fake news that was negative of Saddam Hussein, the Iraqi armed forces, and Iraq itself. @TalAbdulrazaq provides his commentary.

Why are libfems incapable of understanding that a man who enjoys beating women isn’t less misogynistic for doing it in a sexual context

@SVPhillimore It shows his utter ignorance. Clearly defining what a child is integral to child safeguarding. The worst abuses against children is often when their status as a child is forgotten, as the various scandals in local authority care have shown.

I read this with great interest - perhaps the first public declaration I have seen that as the definition of ‘woman’ falls, so too will the definition of ‘child’. And who exactly will this benefit I wonder? A quick glance at criminal law statutes re sexual offences will tell you that. It won’t be children. Watch this development with great care and interest. I suspect it is the next battleground.
Alonso Gurmendi@Alonso_GD

We don’t need to define “child” to protect children from paedophiles lurking in bathrooms. We don’t need to define “woman” to protect women from rapists lurking in changing rooms. We just need to discuss how people can report suspicious behaviour and access safe private spaces

Funniest thing about TERFs crying about gender neutral toilets, is that their crusade through the Supreme Court and EHRC has ensured they will become the norm as the only practical and affordable way to comply with the "guidance".

@AllyFogg @BareLeft What a pathetic rebuttal. Both of you using "crying" to describe women's complaints (hence the use of TERF) is very telling and you know it.

@BareLeft This is precisely why they’re crying, and precisely why they’ll now become increasingly mad about gender neutral provision. None of this was ever about ensuring the safety of women, the objective is to eradicate the public presence of trans people,

One of the things you notice early on as a Civil-Law-trained lawyer in the UK is the massive importance that “reasonableness” plays in UK law. And then you look at anti-trans talking points and they are just so unreasonable. It just doesn’t add up

@TheatreSpoonie @McookAli @Alonso_GD @Frances_Coppola Point two is legally incorrect. People are tried to assert it as fact and it emphatically did not work in practice. This is a new reality which you need to deal with instead of calling anyone who disagrees a bigot.

@McookAli @Alonso_GD @Frances_Coppola 1) gender neutral changing rooms have been in place for years without you noticing 2) transgender women are by definition women. Womens spaces must be open to ALL women.

@ZombieTron @Alonso_GD @LizJone55098804 People underestimate how badly the trans advocacy movement has played this. Had they pushed for third spaces (which can be useful for a broad selection of circumstances), there would be plenty available now. But they didn't, they emphatically rejected them.

@Alonso_GD @LizJone55098804 The question about single sex spaces is about excluding the other sex, in order that each sex can access a full public life. Third spaces have been offered and rejected. But many reject trans inclusion, as it poses an inequality. So what would you suggest?

Somehow, no journalists manage to state these simple facts. Senior management killed UK HE though corruption and incompetence. A functional country would have already had a public investigation into uni capital expenditure, borrowing, and recruitment.

THREAD: The collapse of higher education in the UK is misunderstood by almost everyone involved. We are told it is because of volatile international student markets. The truth is more to do with real estate and capital investment. Here is what is going on: in places like the US
