In the wild, there are no holidays—survival doesn’t pause, and neither does the effort to protect it. Yesterday, on Good Friday, the Mara Conservancy Vet Unit attended to an adult male giraffe in Mara North Conservancy, near Karen Blixen Camp. He was struggling to move, burdened by a large swelling on his left hind limb. Examination revealed a large abscess which, when lanced, released copious amounts of pus. The wound was thoroughly flushed. The injury, suspected to have been caused by a spear or arrow wound that later dislodged, was treated with systemic antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medication, and the giraffe was successfully released back into the wild. Let’s all commit to protecting and safeguarding Kenya’s incredible wildlife for generations to come. Let’s choose coexistence. Karibu, Tutunze Twiga Wetu Pamoja! #ThrivingWildlifeForever

Uganda must be shocked and embarrassed in equal measures. 30 days ago it bought 20% of KPLC at billions of Kenya Shillings. Then today the CEO of the company it invested so much of Uganda's public funds is spending the night in a cold police cell. This is the tragedy of wishing away corruption and a damning indictment on Ugandan Government for not doing proper due diligence.
