“A minister appeared on your show trying to play down that any ranges within the UK were unrealistic. That’s not correct.” Not only can Iran strike the UK, but we are incapable of taking out a missile fired at our country, says former defence secretary @BenWallace70.

In a blatant act of provocation yesterday, Sadiq Khan allowed Christians to perform the Passion of Jesus in Trafalgar Square - a disgraceful show of dominance by a religion from the middle east.

He can't leave his house without security. Despite credible death threats and being physically attacked on multiple occasions by morally fake, love-not-hate lefties he carries on. Already wealthy, famous and successful he could be enjoying his retirement now. He carries on because he hates what the Tories and Labour have done to our country and he is building a movement and party to reverse it. Happy birthday @Nigel_Farage! May God keep you safe 🙏

@montie @bbclaurak @NJ_Timothy Tim. Why were you and racist Nick so quiet about this during the Boris years as Mayor? 8 times during those years Trafalgar Swuare was used for exactly the same reason. Hmmmmmmm

!!! @bbclaurak says "no one wants to curb free debate" while joining in with the BBC-wide censorious coverage of what @NJ_Timothy said. Any British politician who worries about Islamification will know with renewed evidence they get very unsympathetic coverage for ever raising a related issue. Their arguments will be conflated with racism and real, consequential differences between the teachings of different world religions will remain a taboo subject in network tv news.

Under the government's proposals, not one of the 900 wrongly convicted subpostmasters would have had a right to trial by jury. The Prime Minister himself concluded in a report that the scrapping of jury trials led to miscarriages of justice in Northern Ireland in the 1990s. The right to trial by jury must be protected. #JusticeNeedsJuries

John Bolton saying US aren't required to wait till Iran poses an imminent threat 😭😅 I really need to understand why US hawks are so obsessed with Iran and opposed to diplomacy.

Post mortem on Labour’s crushing defeat in recent by-election goes on in the Party but with no sign of the obvious conclusion being reached. The Greens won because they are promoting a programme that ironically won Keir Starmer the Labour leadership & that he instantly dropped.

“There’s a sense of irony in this” Labour MP @johnmcdonnellMP says the Greens won the Gorton and Denton by-election on the ‘policy programme that Keir Starner advocated to become leader of the Labour party’ #Peston

@Lexxity MPs, by convention, don’t represent anyone from a different constituency. Councillors have no such restriction and can do what they want.

Should/can a councillor in one ward be able to represent someone in a different borough? Person a in their area wants something, person b in different area doesn’t want the thing. Who should the councillor work for?

This is absolutely not affordable or sustainable. The longer politicians on all sides ignore this elephant in the room, the longer they will face the reality of welfare spending growth cutting off any prospect of increasing spending on other area.
Jack Elsom@JackElsom

Welfare spending set to rise by £18billion this year to £333billion, before hitting an eye-watering £407billion in 2030/31. Gulp..

@DanNeidle @paullewismoney Sort of related issue Dan. Has any work been done on the loss to the treasury of the use of micro and umbrella companies to avoid income tax and NIC whilst maximising benefits of the vat flat rate scheme?

@paullewismoney Paul, it’s not the admin - it’s the 20% hit to profits and/or increase in prices. Absolutely rational for micro businesses to constrain their growth. Absolutely awful macro consequences.

If you ever wondered what cutting your nose off to spite your face means, it is this bit.ly/4rFjPxa cutting the turnover of your small business to avoid registering for VAT, which anyone with a spreadsheet can sort out in half a day every three months

@reformexposed @GoodwinMJ The video starts under the M67 bridge, near Denton Island, the bus turns right on to the A57 and left onto Derby Street. There are no homes, retail outlets, office buildings. People do not generally walk here. And most in Denton knows where it is and that nobody is there. Weird

Oh dear! According to the memoirs of former Stalybridge MP Tom Pendry, the selection of current Government Chief Whip Jonathan Reynolds as subsequent Labour candidate for the Stalybridge seat (and MP from 2010) was fixed by a chap called Peter Mandelson.

Today is Holocaust Memorial Day. My grandfather arrived here as a refugee, a Holocaust survivor and helped build the life and the democracy I stand in. Now denial grows. Antisemitism shapeshifts into “debate,” into “what about,” into language that makes hatred feel normal. He was saved by a country that chose courage. What kind of country will we choose to be? The responsibility to remember and to speak up is now ours @HMD_UK #bridginggenerations
