@aaron_paul_e @HankFrank HR is just your body’s response to work - the higher the work the higher the HR until it hits max. So this may be down to your perceived effort exceeding your actual effort. So ignore how you feel & dig deeper to increase your watts & HR.

Runners treat the bike like a punishment for being injured. It should be the reason you’re not. Same aerobic development. No impact. And when something flares up, you keep building instead of starting over. This is what that looks like.

I got better at running (and enjoyed it more) when I realized a few things: • Running is a *huge* part of my life. But it’s not life. • Running is a hobby, not my job. • Nobody cares.
Cris “Poob Subscriber”@XcCris

The key to getting better at this running shit is sticking in the game long enough. This optimizing bs will burn you out of the sport within a couple of years. Find a hobby outside exercising and people to do it with that are whimsy. you’ll be better for it. And just happier.

@noravibes_ 30% If it was more complicated you could reduce the fraction in your head to 3/10 by dividing 6 & 20 by 2, but you shouldn’t really need to.

@VishakhRanotra Wouldn’t it be better engineering - more aerodynamic, simpler & fewer points of failure - to mount the brake calliper behind the fork?

I love engineers who think of the minutest of the details. This is functional and aesthetic. A well balanced design. Don’t come commenting “but what about the cost to manufacture this”. It’s not always about that.

@SuGaR_Babbyyy Rotating the clock until the time shown by the hands appears to sense suggests it’s 11:53 (or possibly 10:48 because the small hand is hard to read unless you have a protractor).

Just when the world couldn’t get more mental, you can now pay £45 for a 5k that the next day will have parkrun there for free. (Without laser tunnels, djs and medals though)

VLMV tour starts next week 🙌🙌 If unfamiliar, think Antlers with similar vocal style to Sufjan Stevens, over ethereal guitars, piano, synths / chamber instruments. It’s fabulous. Tickets on the link. Hope to see some of you at Alphabet in Brighton vlmv.uk/live

What a shame. Utter chaos at such a critical point on the course. Lady carrying Kenya flag should not have been anywhere near the runner, no Official firmly in charge, & dozens of people cluttering, where BARRIERS & CLARITY were needed. Sad to see - and it cost him the race...🫤
Jon Root@JonnyRoot_

This is why the finish at the LA marathon was so close👇🏼 Michael Kamau of Kenya was not only impeded by a female holding a Kenya flag, but the motorcade led him the wrong way, causing American Nathan Martin to eventually catch up & win by .01 seconds

Her 100m world athletics ranking was 177th in 2024. No results since so could she be serving a silent ban? Or is she clean and showing world record potential in training, expecting to collect that $1m. Either way, TEG continues to struggle to attract big names.

Georgia Hunter Bell will now almost certainly be upgraded to silver in the 1500m at last year's World Athletics Indoor Championships in Nanjing. This is after Diribe Welteji, who finished second in that race, was disqualified after failing to provide a sample on February 25, 2025. Hunter Bell is the British 1500m record-holder (3:52.61) and also has an Olympic 1500m bronze, European 1500m silver and world 800m silver to her name.

@toycamshtr @CitiusMag The rules are that if you accept the violation you get 2 years. If you don’t then you get 4, hence why Shelby got the longer ban.

BREAKING NEWS: The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has sanctioned 2x World Championship medalist 🇪🇹 Diribe Welteji with a two-year ban after finding she committed an anti-doping rule violation by refusing to provide a sample. Welteji missed the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo due to a provisional suspension and will now be banned through June 30, 2027, with all results from February 25, 2025 onward wiped from the record. 🥈This would include her silver medal at the 2025 World Indoor Championships 1500m final (March 23rd, 2025), where she ran 3:59.30 to take second behind compatriot 🇪🇹 Gudaf Tsegay (3:54.86) 🥇and finish ahead of 🇬🇧 Great Britain's Georgia Hunter-Bell (3:59.84) 🥉, who was awarded bronze on the day. 🇦🇺Australia's Georgia Griffith took 4th in an Australian record of 4:00.80. Welteji also loses her 3:51.44 personal best from the 2025 Prefontaine Classic, which moved her to No. 8 on the all-time list. On February 25, 2025, three sample collectors arrived at Welteji's home for an out-of-competition test. Her husband told them she was asleep. What followed is disputed as witness accounts were "fundamentally contradictory", according to the CAS report. But the collectors left without a sample. Ethiopia's national anti-doping body initially cleared her in August 2025. World Athletics appealed to CAS the following month and managed to successfully request that she be provisionally suspended before the World Championships in Tokyo. A CAS arbitrator found Welteji failed to provide any compelling justification for not submitting to the test, even accounting for confirmed language barriers during the visit. She was found negligent and not intentionally non-compliant, which is why she received two years rather than the four World Athletics had sought.

No surprise Biathlon is the most popular sport at the Winter Olympics, with around 200,000 live spectators. Athleticism, skill, control & a level of jeopardy unmatched in any other sport. I pay my annual TNT subscription just to watch World Cup biathlon🤓 citizen-times.com/story/opinion/…
