@BuffJE0920 @AlaricTsoni @hoosiercommish It seems like you don’t really care about fairness or skill. You just want drama and controversy. And you are entitled to that opinion.
Jonathan Ellis@BuffJE0920

@pattyb_09 @PitchingNinja Just my opinion. I like variety. I like that sometimes calls help you and sometimes they don’t. I miss managers losing their minds in an argument. That’s entertaining to me. Robots deciding outcomes is not entertaining. Someday when you grow up you will understand

@TheHitmanStan @AlaricTsoni @hoosiercommish Yes. That is exactly what I mean. I like that a borderline pitch might go either way. The strike zone has changed over time. It’s a subjective thing. The top/bottom of the zone are completely arbitrary. Not meant to be adjudicated in a black & white way to the 0.1 inch

@AlaricTsoni @hoosiercommish You are a loser if you want less variety in the game and less human element and aren’t willing to accept the already incredibly high accuracy of the humans doing the job.

@tejfbanalytics It’s a shame that being a UFL player is sort of regarded as “embarrassing” for players on the level of Tebow or Manziel. I think those college football stars (who might not be viable at the NFL level) are exactly why a minor league for American football needs.

think the tim tebow, cam newton, johnny manziel, manti te’o run of college football stars will be the biggest college superstars will forever feel. they were all not only amazing players but full on sports culture events. must have been an insane experience to be at their college at the time (definitely might be a “your favorite genre of music was the genre that was most popular when you were 10” though)

@JoshNorris @_7oodoo Does the 2nd bye week appear to be a given at this point? I think more rest weeks aligns really closely with the will of NFL fans.

@joannadangerfd Like the Vikings impact my mood and how good they are informs how much I even follow the rest of the league. He isn’t plagued by that.

Cool genre of guy is the dude who is so into Sports he doesn't even root for a team. My father in law watches hockey highlights all day and he just roots for Hockey. He cheers for the kids on the other team when they are playing my kids if they are passing the puck properly.

@BasedDongeezus Why do you think there’s such a big push to move it later? Have people convinced themselves that it’s truly better or are there outside incentives to move it?

I don't believe that one bit. Teams are much less likely to let their star players go play elsewhere in the middle of the season. This would also make All Star break 2 weeks long, that will be disastrous for a lot of players. You also now have World Series games in late November
Bob Nightengale@BNightengale

Mark DeRosa believes every player would volunteer to play in the WBC if it’s moved to the All Star break. ‘They would be more prepared and more dialed in, and we'd be dealing with way less restrictions and way less guidelines on the pitching if it was moved to midseason. No question about it.’

@beefcake_180 @joannadangerfd Yeah, this is a great point. It’s hard to latch onto a local team in the NBA because the regular season is miserable and that’s all you get when your team is bad. No stars on you team means that you’ve got no reason to care. Playoffs are fun for me as a neutral fan, though.

@joannadangerfd The focus is on entirely everything but the on court and the front office dealings of the league are actively bad. Why are you allowing bad franchises to trade picks a decade into the future? Nearly a third of the league actively tanks and you want to add teams?

@johnbronxbx @YAJUS3NPA1 There’s also more basketball fans near cities. In rural areas there are open fields to play American football and baseball. In urban areas, everything is paved concrete, but there are lots of public basketball hoops.

@johnbronxbx @YAJUS3NPA1 In southern California, near Los Angeles, basketball and baseball are definitely more popular than American football.

@CDonnick1 Good observations. I wonder what the 20 yard split is, because it’s pretty impressive to reach 4.5 without continuing to accelerate.

@fammer_9 @Mo10_11 As an American, I hope that future WBC teams that represent the USA are made entirely of players and staff that actually care. They’ve treated this tournament as a farce and it’s shameful.

@Patrick_Reusse Do you think they’re going to be significantly below the salary cap in 2026? Shouldn’t this move actually increase their cash output this year? I don’t see how this could be your take away.

Jordan Schultz@Schultz_Report

#Packers free agent QB Malik Willis is in demand, as expected, and interested teams I’ve spoken to at the Combine in Indianapolis believe him getting at least $30M per year is a foregone conclusion.

I can think of numerous examples in the NFL where a high variance QB carries his team to victory with a great game and there’s almost nothing the other team can do about it. Well-rounded teams can lose because they “got quarterbacked” but it doesn’t diminish the other team.

I’m not a big hockey fan so it’s funny to see how people talk about “getting goalied” as if it’s less impressive to win when you’re carried by a great performance by the most important position on the team.

@PurpyNFL norwegians have cross country on lock, germans have sledslop, the dutch have speed skating, meanwhile we no longer truly dominate any one individual sport. its crazy we’re still competitive in the overall medal count tbh
