It’s debatable whether history should be taught or widely known in our societies, however one this is for certain; comparing historic wars to modern ones happening today and deriving your opinion of the current war off of the one from the past is lunacy and detrimental to society

Interest on US federal debt has never been higher: In the first 6 months of Fiscal Year 2025, interest expense jumped +7% YoY, to $623 billion, the highest for this period in history. This is even higher than during the massive pandemic response in 2021, when the budget deficit was at $1.7 trillion. Over the last 12 months, gross interest expense is running at a record $1.3 trillion. As a result, interest is now the 2nd-largest spending category, only behind Social Security at $1.6 trillion. Interest expenditures are $300 billion larger than health spending and $400 billion larger than defense spending. The US debt crisis is in full swing.

This is not reassuring….

Someone pointed out to me that tech is going to have a lot of earnings this week and the market is likely pricing it in. It’s going to be super volatile as I noticed the tech companies tank after earnings but recover quickly like in the case of ASML this morning. After I get whatever I can for this current short, which probably won’t be much, I’m just going to stock with longs for awhile unless things fall through with Iran. And even then with Iran, not sure if the market will care if conflict continues)

@TraderBerns Yea my (20) 696 put position isn’t looking too hot. I think a lot of this has to do with the anticipation of the new FED chair lowering rates. Unfortunately, it will destroy the US economy.

My guess is that PPI will conveniently come in about 0.1% above its expected value.

I was born in the US and live both in Mexico and the US. My family has been in the US since the 1600s and has fought in most of the major wars. My uncle is a war hero and has a street named after him. My dad went to the same military academy as Trump. My family were also early investment bankers who funded the union army and transcontinental railroad amongst other things. I’m probably more American than you!

Iranian Air Force launched strikes on  U.S bases An image that emerged from the wreckage at the U.S. base in Kuwait shows an unexploded FAB bomb, evidencing that Iran used its air force to bomb American bases. There are no debris from downed Iranian aircraft in Kuwait, which leads me to imagine that the actions were executed successfully. In another episode, the Iranian Air Force also attacked Qatar. Doha’s version is that they intercepted the aircraft performing a low-altitude flight, at only 80 feet over the sea, before they could release their bombs. It is most likely they were shot down by Qatari F-15s while executing the release maneuver or immediately after it. Qatar stated they were 2 minutes away from Al Udeid Air Base, which leads me to believe they were simply seeking more altitude for the launch In other words, the Iranian Air Force was attacking at least two American bases in the Gulf with Su-24MK aircraft, in a manner very similar to what the Ukrainians do. What everyone thought were only missiles and drones hitting U.S. bases may reveal other IRIAF actions in more Gulf countries. It is estimated that Iran had over 25 Su-24MK/Su-25UBK in the pre-war period and still maintains a good portion of this fleet protected in bunkers, as well as its F-14s, F-5s, YAK-130s, and MiG-29s. With the exception of the Yak-130, which is a more recent project, it is an ancient air force, yet courageous and still operational. Obviously, it is no match for the coalition’s more modern aircraft; therefore, Iran is limiting its operations in a joint strategy with short-range anti-aircraft systems to inhibit rotary-wing action over their territory.
