@AdamSinger Tit for tat — the teachers allow naked disinterest and apply low standards, and the students reciprocate by tolerating incompetent and ineffective instruction

I don't understand why smartphones were ever allowed in schools in the first place. We weren't even allowed to take out a graphing calculator outside of very specific math or science classes. Did everyone just give up on rules and decorum at some point

The very foundation of the United States is our commitment to democracy. Today, the current Supreme Court majority voted against that, ultimately saying that some voters matter more than others. California will continue to fight for our democracy, for the American people, and the values of the Voting Rights Act.

An update on my lawsuit against Cornell for their secret and illegal search for a "diversity hire" evolutionary biologist. In short, Cornell isn't even contesting the fact that their job search was racially discriminatory. They're instead trying to argue that I left academia and wouldn't have applied to it even if the job search was posted publicly. That's very revealing. But this is false: While I did leave my academic position at Penn State in 2020, I was still searching for, and applying to, academic jobs in addition to non-academic jobs. I applied to a different position at Cornell months before their racist job search because I had specific interest in working there. And I applied to @uaustinorg in 2021. I have the applications to prove it. I would have applied to their 2020 evolutionary biology position had it been posted publicly (which they were required to do) and not been race-based (which is illegal). Cornell wants to make this all go away. But we're not going away. They got caught, and are now being held accountable.
Leigh Ann O'Neill@LaLONeill

This week @A1Policy filed a brief in opposition to @Cornell's motion to dismiss our lawsuit against it on behalf of @SwipeWright. Cornell says this case is “a lawsuit in search of a plaintiff.” Wrong. It's a civil rights case about an elite university that secretly ran a race-based hiring scheme—cutting out qualified candidates like Dr. Colin Wright before they could even apply.

Today's Supreme Court decision reverses hard-won progress under the Voting Rights Act. It means less representation for millions of Black Americans and other voters of color, as lawmakers gain greater ability to manipulate their districts. There will be more extreme partisan gerrymandering, lopsided elections, less accountable government, and policies that hurt rather than help with everyday life. But this is no time to be demoralized, because we know it does not have to be this way. We can mobilize around reform, new laws, and where necessary, constitutional amendments for fairer government. Only then can we feel the benefits of a balanced Court, a truly representative Congress, and an election system free from the distorting power of extreme corporate and partisan manipulation.

The liberal city of Ann Arbor, Mich. has removed its last "neighborhood crime watch" sign in a move meant to be more welcoming to blacks and people of color. The woke believe that law and order are anti-black and anti-POC, hence they call for abolishment. thepostmillennial.com/ann-arbor-remo…

Today’s Supreme Court decision effectively guts a key pillar of the Voting Rights Act, freeing state legislatures to gerrymander legislative districts to systematically dilute and weaken the voting power of racial minorities - so long as they do it under the guise of “partisanship” rather than explicit “racial bias.” And it serves as just one more example of how a majority of the current Court seems intent on abandoning its vital role in ensuring equal participation in our democracy and protecting the rights of minority groups against majority overreach. The good news is that such setbacks can be overcome. But that will only happen if citizens across the country who cherish our democratic ideals continue to mobilize and vote in record numbers - not just in the upcoming midterms or in high profile races, but in every election and every level.

Important to remember that none of the fraud being exposed to this level would have been possible without David. He investigated this on his own for years, and we exposed the fraud together. David is a patriot in the truest form. He doesn’t care about the recognition; he just wanted to help his country 🫡 A lot can be leared from David’s example and hopefully inspire others to make a difference in their own neighborhood.

WARMTH OF COLLECTIVISM UPDATE: Mayor Zohran Mamdani declares a "budget crisis," asks for a bailout from the state government, and pushes back his deadline for completing the city budget at least 10 days: "We cannot close this deficit with savings alone. We need new revenue, and we need a structural reset in our relationship with the state. That is the only way to meet our legal obligation to pass a balanced budget."

If you commit fraud in Minnesota you’re going to get caught — and that’s exactly what we saw today. We catch criminals when state and federal agencies share information. Joint investigations work, and securing justice depends on it.

New documents show the Chicago Teachers Union has a “recording studio” 1,000 miles away in New Mexico Images from Zillow show the property has a pool and looks like a vacation rental The money laundering never stops “Can anybody tell me why the Chicago Teachers Union needs a recording studio in New Mexico? In new documents, they spent $173,000 at 265 Sunset Road in Albuquerque. Their accounting describes it as a recording studio, Zillow shows it also has a pool. CTU described the payment as part of representational activities which legally must be associated with the negotiation administration and enforcement of collective bargaining agreements. With an audit, CTU might be able to explain how a recording studio a thousand miles away helps them with that, but they haven't released one of those in 5 years.“ I looked more into this, even Illinois authorities found this suspicious The Illinois Policy Institute highlighted this as questionable spending, noting the lack of any detailed explanation in the federal filing and the pool’s visibility on real estate sites CTU has not released its required annual audits to members since 2019 despite bylaws mandating it In the same period, CTU ramped up political spending significantly, with leadership compensation Sounds like people are being paid off It’s money laundering and fraud
