@Aceofspades256 @SpeedWatkins No not necessarily. I don’t think it’s nearly as compelling as a confirmed sighting, but it bears some evidential weight worth considering.

Fun fact: Evidence is a symmetrical relation. If demons would confirm theism, then any evidence against demons disconfirms theism. In other words, if the evidence available counts against demons, and theism predicts demons, the available evidence will disconfirm theism.

@SpeedWatkins Confirmed alien sightings would predict life elsewhere in the universe. Does a lack of confirmed alien sightings disconfirm life elsewhere in the universe?

@AlchemistNon Unrelated, but I was looking through your YouTube channel recently trying to find and interview you did and couldn’t find it. Did you move some of the interview videos elsewhere?

It’s antecedently surprising that, if God exists, we have been created with moral intuitions that, even at their most sensitive, do not Intuit by design even the most coarse-grain reasons for God’s creating horrendous evils.

Choosing a theological tradition seems impossible since there are so many, so that means you have to read so many books, both old and new. Then you also have to keep up with modern scholarship and new arguments put forward for each tradition.

Thinking of attending a pentecostal church tomorrow, but I genuinely have an fear of being called to participate in "spiritual gifts". Any current/former pentecostals in my followers that can ease my worries or give me tips to make the visit go smoothly?

The atheist tier list: For the next 6 days, starting tomorrow, I’ll be posting a meme showing what each tier represents. Should be a lot of fun and hopefully we can encourage our atheist interlocutors to behave better in these discussions.

I think God's non-existence is logically entailed by a moral proposition we have good reason to believe, namely that it would be immoral for all-powerful being to create a universe like this.

Coase’s "Net effect?" Ghost 🏴🕊️
@alphasymp That is reinforced in 13:30, where he says that the generation will not pass "until all these things have taken place". There's no failed prediction that would be embarrassing to the author. He thinks it's beginning to be fulfilled as he writes.

I've said it before but I'll say it again because nobody else has made this point: evangelical scholars dating the gospels much before the central datings are playing a dangerous game. You make them closer to the events, but *further* from the first manuscripts. More editing.

The goodness of God requires the existence of the lake of fire. It is a manifestation of God’s goodness and perfect justice. Everyone wants to raise the question “how can a loving God send people there forever?” Seldom do they ask “how can just God ever let people into heaven?”
