Fun fact: Evidence is a symmetrical relation. If demons would confirm theism, then any evidence against demons disconfirms theism. In other words, if the evidence available counts against demons, and theism predicts demons, the available evidence will disconfirm theism.

@alphasymp That is reinforced in 13:30, where he says that the generation will not pass "until all these things have taken place". There's no failed prediction that would be embarrassing to the author. He thinks it's beginning to be fulfilled as he writes.

I've said it before but I'll say it again because nobody else has made this point: evangelical scholars dating the gospels much before the central datings are playing a dangerous game. You make them closer to the events, but *further* from the first manuscripts. More editing.

The goodness of God requires the existence of the lake of fire. It is a manifestation of God’s goodness and perfect justice. Everyone wants to raise the question “how can a loving God send people there forever?” Seldom do they ask “how can just God ever let people into heaven?”
