@GrandpaRoy2 Looks like the board under the CubePilot is a video capture card (realtimesai.com/en/product/RTS…), and I assume the board under that is a Linux SBC though I've not figured out which it is yet. Presumably it's doing video processing for target acquisition on board.

In addition, an Ra-01 radio communication module from the Chinese company AI-Thinker (803–930 MHz range) is for receiving control signals. Next is a MW6S004N AMP V1.2 amplifier for video. Finally there is a Castles Creations (made in the USA) electronic speed controller (ESC). 5/

I'm so old I wrote that! Or Windows Product Activation, at least. A couple of close friends and I added the first version of Windows Product Activation to XP at the last second. They came to me pretty late in the product cycle after it had failed to materialize on some other team, asked if I could do it in time, and I agreed to take it on. I knew it was going to be a deathmarch to get it in on time, but I'd frankly been coasting. I took it on as a last project to "prove what I was still capable" of, I guess. We started with what they had from Office and adapted/improved it for operating system inclusion. I had it "done" enough to ship in the beta, if I recall correctly. It included some impressive protection, stuff I probably still can't talk about! In addition to trying to be clever with respect to the code, the code itself was then encrypted, cross-thread-verified, and so on by post-processing tools. So basically, your code is encrypted until it needs to run... and there are measures to prohibit snooping the buffer, and you can imagine the rest.... It was also the first time I ever got to add a Kernel API to NT. I added write-once registry keys that you could create but never destroy, and used it for some monotonic timestamps that made rolling the clock back a lot harder. When I was done, I got a 4.5 review at Microsoft, which means nothing to most folks, but if you know, you know. They put in for a 5.0, but they only give out a couple at a time across the whole company, and it wasn't my time, so 4.5 it was. It helped me leave with a 4.0 or better lifetime average, at least! There never was a general crack of the protection as far as I know, though it was circumvented by key leaks such as this famous example. Still, you had to have an image of the correct media, etc. Thankfully, I had access to some amazing mathematicians like Peter, and some real experts on the Trusted Computing side like Mike and Jim. And to help me write the code, and code review my constant churn, I had Caglar and a few other stars. Hard to believe its 25 years ago!

UPDATE: Spain / Portugal blackout. It's ~5 hours since the blackout started. Load has risen a tiny bit to ~12 GW in Spain (a recovery of ~1.5 GW since 12.35pm local time when it started). The grid operator still has another >10 GW to recover. Sunset in Madrid is in ~3 hours.
