The CEO of Uber just revealed his controversial way of running his company. His principle: Hard work is a learned skill. And if you haven't developed it by now, you probably never will. Dara Khosrowshahi went on Diary of a CEO and dropped something most executives would NEVER admit publicly... He was asked a simple question: "Have you ever seen someone who wasn't a hard worker become a really hard worker?" His answer: "No. No one occurs to me." Not one person. In decades of building billion dollar companies. Then he explained why: "The most important skill in life is the skill of working hard. It's not something you can turn on and off. It's a LEARNED skill. That's not something you're born with." Read that again. He's not saying hard workers are special or gifted. He's saying they LEARNED it. Developed it. Trained it like a muscle. And the people who never learned it? They stay that way forever. This is the guy who turned Uber from bleeding $3 billion a year into printing $10 billion in free cash flow. The guy who took Expedia from $2B to $9B in revenue. And his entire thesis on success comes down to one skill most people never bother developing. Here's how he runs Uber: "You come to Uber, you're going to work your ass off. If you're not performing, we're going to let you know. And if you don't fix it, we're going to push you out." He sends emails on Saturdays. If no response by Sunday, he follows up with just "?" When HR told him he was "scaring people" early in his tenure, he said: "Then they can leave." And here's what separates this from toxic hustle culture nonsense: Dara has dinner with his family every night. 6 to 8pm is protected. But he's back on email at 9:30pm. And again at 5:30am. It's not about grinding yourself to death. It's about the refusal to be outworked. "I'm not going to let anyone outwork me. They may be smarter, more talented. But I'm not going to let anyone outwork me." He studied the elites. Ronaldo. Jordan. The pattern is always the same... Talent gets you in the room. But the thing that separates the best from everyone else? "They work their asses off. They're disciplined. They're structured. They're relentless." That's learned behavior. Not genetics. The uncomfortable truth here is that most people had their chance to develop this skill. And they didn't. Now they spend their energy debating whether hard work is "toxic" instead of building something. The question isn't whether this is "fair" or "healthy" or whatever cope people want to throw at it. The question is which SIDE you're going to be on. The people who learned to work? Or the people who learned to make excuses?

@British_Airways is it your new customer service policy to jerk around a passenger who had a horrible travel experience and is owed compensation? Multiple months of abysmal back and forth emails with your CS team to try and resolve my documented claims with no end in sight. It’s really disheartening and has wasted dozens of hours of my life, and your team.

@CollinRugg @CollinRugg does your financing “statistic” account for the fact that Goldenvoice (the owner) allows ticket purchasers the ability to “pay over time” for a one time 3-5% fee? If not, you’re promoting a misleading story as that may be smart money management.

NEW: About 60% Of Coachella attendees financed their tickets to attend the festival, according to Billboard. If you need to take out a loan to go to Coachella, you shouldn’t be going to Coachella. There have been about 100,000 attendees each weekend for the festival and over half of them are financing their tickets. The ticket prices are around $600 but most festival-goers are spending over $1000 for housing and food as well. The payment plan starts with a down payment of as low as $50.

@larsmoravy I’d love for auto-folding mirrors to unfold when shifting into D/R and fold when going into park. The location-based folding is nice for some applications but not when the mirrors are needed for parking like at my house.

@British_Airways I'm trying to re-booked my honeymoon trip to Africa with a BA flight credit and I'm being told I must book a ticket worth the same OR MORE than the original or I lose ALL of my credit!? I either have to spend thousands more, or lose it all. This is appalling.

@British_Airways In short, I’m perfectly ok giving up the difference in fare. That’s fair to me and what I expected would happen. What’s asinine is being told I must spend more or lose ALL of my paid credit. It’s a very substantial sum, too so this is a very sour position.

@goformitch Hi Mitchell. If you had purchased a non-refundable ticket, this means that if you are wanting to change the date, you won't receive any fare back if it is cheaper. Natalie

@British_Airways Natalie- my issue with BA is a policy where I can’t use my credit to buy a cheaper ticket (and forego the difference). I’m forced to buy one the same or MORE expensive. Surprise, the only options now are cheaper or more expensive so I MUST spend more. It’s an untenable situation.

@CredibleCrypto Other than replacing the battery last week I am in the exact same place with a 2021 model. Incredible machine.

So I just checked the date on my MacBook Pro and it seems I bought it in 2021. It still works just like it did on Day 1. Blazing fast, long battery life, beautiful screen, I've had literally zero issues with this thing and it's been 4 years now. I was tempted to upgrade to the latest model but I just can't bring myself to do it because I literally can't find a single fault with my current model despite it being 4 years old. This is all to say that if you're considering pulling the trigger on one for the first time, do it. They are fantastic machines. Also, I'll be giving away at least 2 MacBook Pros and 2 Macbook Airs in my next giveaway which will be live before April 1st, so keep an eye out for that 👀
James Crocker@jimgcrocker

Why would anyone buy anything else other than a MacBook? I’ve had my pro for 10 years and it’s still going strong, although I’m defo due an upgrade!

@CredibleCrypto We upgraded from Tumi to Rimowa and haven’t looked back—as good as the Tumi were (35 countries visited) for interior design, the rollability and reliability of Rimowa is unparalleled.

Best suitcases/luggage for multi-week travel? Looking for hard shell, all sizes. Price is not really a factor, I just want the best quality you can get (tired of dealing with shitty zippers on the cheaper ones). Frequent travelers, what are your recommendations?

@AerLingus just checked again and looks like you missed another opportunity to make things right for us on Thursday’s flight #60 direct to Dublin. Our bags are still sitting where that plane departed. Unreal and sad. Please help!

Hey @AerLingus thanks for leaving my bag on the tarmac where our plane was when we left 10 hours ago. 0/3 bags here in Dublin with us.

@AerLingus I’ve tried calling every number I’ve found or been given for your baggage lines only to be hung up on each time. This is unreal. There’s another non-stop heading to DUB from SFO in a few hours and we’d love our bags to make it on. They’re literally sitting at the gate.

@AerLingus That is not helpful. I know exactly where my bags are at SFO and as of right now I see your team missed 2 non-stop flights to Dublin that would have gotten us our bags. This is unacceptable. Our bags are still sitting right near the departure gates.

@DisneyParks should host an “adults only” day at its theme parks once a year. 21 and over only with themed drink carts like their churro carts. It’d be the best, happiest day of the year and I’d go to every single one. #disney
