@cynthialovely @CantEverDie A screwdriver made of old photos pressed together. There's a reason so many of the crypto people jumped ship to NFTs and then to GenAI, and it's not because they stopped trying to scam people. Even the people invested in it are aware that they can't make money off it w/o deceit.

@Earnest_Voice @floridamodern1 @ulxma Yeah, but everyone for YEARS made fun of it like it was frivolous. "Oh, the coffee is hot? What did you expect?" was a very common joke for a long time, before people finally started finding out the truth.

This tweet has over 200k likes and claims the teenager was drinking “multiple” energy drinks per day. Other tweets say “six” per day. In reality, someone completely made that up and there is no credible source. What credible reporting actually says: - She regularly drank about one energy drink per day leading up to her death (it led to cumulative stress on her heart). - Her lawyer explicitly said it wasn’t a case of drinking a large number in one sitting. It was ongoing consumption over time. - The case is being framed around long-term caffeine exposure, not just one extreme binge/six cans. So where did the six cans per day claim come from? I guess we’ll never know. But what we know is that people have now used this lie to say “she and her parents deserved it for being dumb” in all kinds of ways.
Miss Sandrist@foreverimbetter

So a teenager was drinking multiple energy drinks a day and died so the family is suing the energy drink company? Are parents ever gonna realize that parenting is their job?

@WallCandyKun @G0ffThew They can't even subtitle an English dub, the bar for what they're unwilling to spend effort on is unbelievably low.

@G0ffThew It’s also laughable to suggest Crunchyroll are rewriting or “censoring” anything. Crunchyroll would never do something that requires additional money or hiring human beings.

These people are unbelievably stupid and unserious. Broadcast licenses are regional by design. None of the Japanese TV stations & streaming services want the Japanese audience accessing all of their exclusive shows on a US platform. This is obvious if you think for two seconds.
AyakaMods@AyakaMods

🚨 JUST NOW 🚨 CRUNCHYROLL’S INVISIBLE CURTAIN EXPOSED Crunchyroll is geo-blocked in Japan. Japanese fans literally CANNOT access it. So the West can rewrite subtitles, censor content, and push anti-male dubs, and Japan never sees it.

@CaucasianOprah @basedgizmo @lightfoot90 The interruption matters almost as much as the length (within reason). A few five minute ad breaks, you can run to the restroom or grab a snack. A bunch of short ones just takes you out of the movie and still doesn't last long enough you won't need to pause and rewind.

@dslite25344 @doggygoth @StartWaiting Basically everyone has both hormones and also has hormone cycles, it's just less physically obvious for some. Those of us with daily doses might take the same amount every day, there can still be a cycle that leads to periods of higher/lower. Some then get cramps, it's a spectrum

@doggygoth @StartWaiting Ok but we go through these symptoms because of the drop of estrogen and every other hormone during our periods. Don’t trans women take the same amount of estrogen every day?

isn’t it crazy how many parts of transition we’re just not allowed to talk about bc like half of the community thinks they’re just made up and would rather say we’re lying and setting the trans community back years than believe that HRT can have effects that are under researched

@onethingbagel @doggygoth Part of it, I imagine, is that literally everyone has hormone cycles. It's just that menstruation provides very obvious effects that mean people don't pay attention to anything else. Even non-trans men have cycles. So for daily hrt, that might influence it to be more prominent?

@doggygoth What I dont get (but I believe trans women anyway) is that cis women with ovaries generally have a monthly cycle and trans women are typically injecting or ingesting the same amount weekly or 2x daily. How does your body take that and then make its own monthly cycle?

@DDead26840 @Ghost_K1d21 @fleurfaeriie @tyisdrawing She had at least one child. Whether she loved her husband or not isn't certain, but unless you have an actual source for "everyone else translated her wrong, including the queer people" I'm going to keep assuming you're the one desperate to cope with a world that's complex.

@chipilonita One of my favorite presents from my parents when I moved out was a collection on DVDs (and a couple VHSs, even) of various films they thought were excellent that I mostly had never seen or maybe heard of (and available for cheap, I imagine). Wide range of genres and styles, too.

@DoneandDani @kingthebearr @loserbent I used to cover my chest when changing and wore shirts to swim. Thought the former was a joke (even if it felt better) and the latter was just for sunburns (even when that didn't matter). Turns out I just picked things up, even before my egg cracked.

@kingthebearr @loserbent The point being that often trans girls internalize and act out on views of their bodies that cis children don't. You said that trans women don't, and I'm saying that they often do, even if it's a subconscious or seemingly nonsensical behaviour in the eyes of society.

@_celia_bedelia_ PSA: if unvaccinated, rabies *will* kill you. Even with the best modern treatment protocols, well… you can count *total* rabies survivors on both hands. The *annual* global death rate? Roughly 50,000.

@thinkiamsad @evilgeckowo And, hell, sentient AI might not be real, but there's a lot of IRL cyborgs out there that people were "unintentionally" insulting and denigrating because they think of it as Sci-fi racism jokes and not, like... Prosthetics and hearing aids and pacemakers and stuff.

@evilgeckowo like, a lot of the replies were along the lines of "sentient AI isn't real" or "no one is calling real people 'clankers'", because they didn't even understand what you were worried about, and therefore assumed that you were being hypersensitive or frivolous

I’m siding with the anarchists here. Most public defenders are just crap attorneys in it for the easy paycheck, but the ideological PDs are truly sick puppies. They adore and worship criminals. It’s gross. They hide behind “fairness,” but they genuinely love helping the guilty

@samarakarow Okay but neither OP nor I said anything about that that I can see so I don't know what to tell you. The show acts like the founding fathers were revolutionary (in a progressive sense) in not just their time but ours ("immigrants, we get the job done", etc) and they weren't.

There’s nothing “rebel[lious]” about juxtaposing aesthetics that are inspired by a low-art genre of music (hip hop) in a high-art venue; that is both elitist and pro-establishment. The aesthetic choices in “Hamilton” are as classist as Alexander Hamilton’s political philosophy.
Helen of Boy@hasbranscombe

@samarakarow @trobo11 Not as in "this aesthetic is revolutionary (new)" but "revolutionary (rebel) aesthetic ".
