“As a father, I can’t even start to get my head wrapped around this. This is clearly a deranged, sick, sick, sick individual. And like it or not, there are some people in our society who can not and should not be free to be out and about, and Allan Schoenborn is one of those people. There is nothing, not one thing, which suggests that this is someone who should be granted more freedom,” says Mayor Brad West vancouver.citynews.ca/2026/06/04/bc-…

Had a day of insightful and thought-provoking conversations with the @UniofOxford’s @BlavatnikSchool on the future of democracy in a tech-driven world.  Thank you to Dean Woods, to the Blavatnik students, and to the Canadian alumni I had the pleasure of speaking with.

“If Premier @Dave_Eby spent more time addressing the regulatory issues impacting #bcforestry than he did complaining about the #cdnpoli govt, we would not be in the position we are now,” said @WardStamer “And instead of trying to place the blame for mill closures on Donald Trump, Minister of Forests Ravi Parmar should take a look in the mirror. Permitting delays, rising costs, and shrinking fibre access have been growing threats to BC’s forest industry, but Minister Parmar has ignored them" …uriouslookatpoliticsinbc.blogspot.com/2026/06/ndp-go… @BCConservCaucus #Kamloops #NorthThompson

Today’s decision by the BC Review Board to grant Allan Schoenborn a conditional discharge is wrong. This is the man who stabbed and smothered his three young children, Kaitlynne, Max, and Cordon, to death in their home in Merritt back in 2008. He killed his own kids. I’m sorry, but this man needs to be locked away. He should not be getting any kind of discharge, conditional or otherwise. After what he did, the public has every right to expect that he remains under the strictest supervision for the rest of his life. This is NDP justice in full display. A system that seems more worried about the progress and rights of a violent offender than about protecting the public and standing with victims’ families. The Review Board has once again shown that under this NDP government, dangerous people can gradually work their way toward more freedom, even after committing the most unthinkable crimes against children. The family of those three kids has already been through hell. They shouldn’t have to live with the knowledge that the man who murdered their children is being moved closer to release.

So much for "Look West." You can't talk about economic growth while blocking access to the very resources that make British Columbia prosperous. Mining, critical minerals, LNG, and forestry create thousands of jobs and generate the revenue that pays for our schools, hospitals, infrastructure, and public services. Yet the BCNDP has once again extended a freeze on new mineral claims, creating more uncertainty and driving investment elsewhere. Nobody is going to look west if BC keeps telling investors to look somewhere else. The world is demanding our resources. BC should be leading the way, not standing in its own way.
Cosmin Dzsurdzsa@cosminDZS

David Eby just extended the pause on mineral rights which was supposed to expire today, meaning no new registrations in northern B.C. until 2027 All while the BC NDP drowns in the litigation nightmare of its own making as First Nations seek to enforce DRIPA

City of Burnaby boosts tenant protections further. A tenant renting an old apartment gets the right to come back when the new project is built and rent a brand new unit for the same old rent. Honestly who would develop under these conditions? Ironically it will choke new supply, ensuring rents stay higher than they should. burnaby.ca/our-city/news/…

Our housing action plan is helping British Columbians — rents are down almost 13% across BC. British Columbians are saving thousands of dollars every year, and there is more to do — so we’re continuing to build homes and bring down rents.

This is why it’s so important that we stop the 900 Helmcken OPS. I had the opportunity to speak with Denise, the owner of a live-work hair salon directly across from the proposed OPS. Last week, she gave a powerful speech about how difficult it has been to live and run a business near the crime and disorder that has come from previous OPS locations. Denise spoke about how deeply her business has already been affected by these policies, and what the opening of this could mean for her future. These are the people that ABC is standing up for: hardworking Vancouverites who want a safe and affordable city to call home. We need action from the Province: We need a guarantee that this OPS will never open, and we need the full implementation of mandatory care that Premier Eby committed to nearly two years ago. #abcvancouver #publicsafety #affordability

With Donald Trump once again threatening Canada’s independence today, the last thing we need is the new leader of the BC Conservatives auditioning to be a MAGA regional manager here in British Columbia.

Canada has 105 Senators representing more than 40 million people. Metro Vancouver’s Board could soon have more than 50 directors representing just over 3 million. Last year, I moved a motion to place a reasonable cap on the size of the Metro Vancouver Board. Next month, directors will finally vote on it. It’s time to Cap the Board.

Premier Eby in Burnaby this AM to talk affordable housing. Congratulates Kerry-Lynne Findlay but says BC Conservatives will re-ignite BC housing crisis by vowing to dump NDP policies such as the spec tax and Air BnB restrictions. Battle lines already being laid out.
