@ScottTedro @heatherbarr1 Scott- if you’re 1A/2A guy Pretti had every right to have that gun at a protest. Same w/ filming them. They took his gun & murdered him. Trump is a populist. He’s not on board w/this. 6gop govs against. NRA against. It’s done he will remove agents in MN.

@CommitYourPlans @MattWalshBlog Check in with the NRA - they are saying that he had every constitutional right. If they can take his gun and then murder him, who’s next? Gun owners aren’t ok w/ this. That good ol 2nd amendment Trump will roll on the agent. He’s a populist

I can’t even comprehend walking out my front door with my Glock with the express intent of directly confronting armed law enforcement. Genuinely. If I ever get to that point, it will be because I’m prepared to put my life on the line. …imagine putting your life on the line for illegal immigration.

If you dress up in your militia costume, arm yourself, and then go out into the street with the express intent of interfering with law enforcement, and then fight back when they try to arrest you, and then you end up dead, you only have yourself to blame for that whole series of deliberate and insanely idiotic decisions.

Alex Pretti impeded traffic. Alex Pretti ignored law enforcement commands to back up, and shortly thereafter put his hands on law enforcement, reinitiating physical contact. Alex Pretti violently resisted arrest. Alex Pretti was NOT lawfully carrying a firearm because he did not have ID on him. Alex Pretti reached for his holster during his violent resistance, signaling to law enforcement he was a threat to their lives. Those are the facts. Don’t fall for fake news.

I carry a gun, legally. Let’s say I don’t like DUI enforcement. I think people should have the right to drive drunk. I see a DUI stop, I park my car, I get out with my gun in my hip holster, and aggressively confront the cops while they’re conducting sobriety tests.

Bottom line, the agitator shouldn’t have brought a gun to a confrontation with federal agents. Not only did he bring it, he pulled it out. You have no idea how you would have handled the situation. So none of this “I stand with ICE, but” There are no buts. The agents behaved reasonably. @DHSgov

This looks more and more like the gun accidently discharged after it was taken, which led other officers to open fire. This is incredibly tragic. While I stand with ICE, I believe this should have been handled much differently from the beginning.

BREAKING: Scott Bessent reveals Treasury is tracking tens of millions of dollars fleeing Iran as its leaders know the end is near and try to escape sanctions. The Treasury Secretary called it “rats fleeing the ship.” BESSENT: “And Rob the other thing as Treasury who carries out the sanctions we can see is we are now seeing the rats fleeing the ship because we can see millions, tens of millions of dollars being wired out of the country, snuck out of the country by the Iranian leadership.” “So they are abandoning ship, and we are seeing it come into banks and financial institutions all over the world.” “And what we do at Treasury is we follow the money, whether it is through the banking system or through digital assets.” “We are going to trace these assets and they will not be able to keep them.”

It’s insane to watch people who once claimed to defend human rights in the Middle East now defend the Iranian regime. I’m losing respect for so many people. I understand that Palestinians tend to build their entire worldview around who opposes Israel and who doesn’t, but this isn’t sustainable and is honestly an immature way to understand global affairs. Palestinians are as worthy of support and human rights as any other people, and so are Iranians. If you think one of their struggles is more important than the other, then you are part of the problem.

My wife woke up yesterday jumping from excitement She just received a job offer from Google "Babe, they want to pay me $300k, $100k base plus $200k in stock options" she said I sat down and held her hand "Sweetheart, that means they are offering you just $100k" "No look, it says total compensation is $300k" I gently closed her laptop "Stock options are imaginary money, it's a well known American scam, it's not real" I said "But I could just sell them for cash?" she asked I tried not to laugh, women can be so naive sometimes "That's not how stocks work. Who told you this?" She said her recruiter explained it I sighed. Of course. An American filled her head with nonsense "Baby, American stocks are worthless, it's imaginary shares from an imaginary company" "But it's such a good offer" she started crying "I know, baby" I hugged her, and right there I knew I needed to act It's my job as a husband to shield her from American predators Later I emailed the recruiter and declined on her behalf I explained that my wife is not interested in fantasy compensation from a failing company We are European. We don't fall for American tricks She will keep her job at SAP making €43,000 a year, which puts her above most women in Germany Feels good knowing I protected our future

@Erfanmusic @aaronjmate Despite your pouty little tirade, I haven't "diminished the sacrifices" of any Iranian people, I am simply pointing out a glaring journalistic flaw in how casualty counts are currently being transmitted across the US media landscape. Very strange you'd find that "heartbreaking"

The huge death tolls in Iran being splashed all over the media are sourced to an outfit in Fairfax, VA called "Human Rights Activists in Iran" that is overwhelmingly funded by the US government. What is their methodology? Is it credible? Who cares? Just pump the big numbers out

@aaronjmate Did you always suck this much? Ready with the worst take possible? I'm not a huge fan of the tariffs, but if it precipitates the fall of the Mullahs, it's a small sacrifice to make. There are thousands being killed in the street, demanding their freedom. They deserve our support.

China is Iran's largest trading partner, by far. So because the neocons surrounding Trump want to overthrow the Iranian government, Iranian civilians get higher prices via crippling sanctions and American consumers get higher prices via US tariffs on Chinese-made goods. We're all at the mercy of state sadism.
The White House@WhiteHouse

I personally don’t agree with mandatory hijab and think a general modesty standard would make more sense, just as I oppose hijab bans in some countries. That said, Iran has already relaxed enforcement in practice, even if not formally. The morality police have reportedly been instructed to leave women alone unless their dress is deemed excessively revealing. These issues are being discussed internally by the leadership. Change, where it happens, needs to come through domestic debate and not foreign interference.

I don’t know how to break this to some Westerners, but many Muslims do want to live under a theocratic system- and many women support mandatory hijab. You don’t have to like it. You don’t have to agree with it. But it isn’t your society, your culture, or your decision. How a Muslim country governs itself is not Western business.
