Yeah that would be great. Keep All-Purpose always the same if you need to for legal reasons but the rest should be customizable and hold those customizations per user profile; With one exception. If I last was in Very High ride height in All Terrain mode, and I've since switched to All Purpose or some other mode, and want to switch to All Terrain now but I'm driving at 20mph; rather than tell me I need to slow down in order to switch due to ride height; just switch to All Terrain with standard ride height 🙃

@spyderms @WassymBensaid Agreed I’d also like it to maintain individual settings like when I click on sport mode, I want it to retain reduced traction control not the defaults

Speaking of this .@WassymBensaid will Rivian get cloud profiles like Tesla? So all our settings are portable if we have multiple Rivian’s or a loaner?
Meccanica@dictionaryhill

@Jim_363 If my Tesla is in service and I get a Tesla loaner literally everything is there. My music, seat position, mirrors everything. I wish my Rivian was like that.

"Autopilot isn't meant for city driving" It's funny how some people can't see that is also true for Autonomy+ 🤔
Sawyer Merritt@SawyerMerritt

Carwow just released a new video to its 11 million YouTube subscribers titled: "Why Tesla Full Self Drive is Pointless!" @carwowuk misleads its viewers into thinking Tesla’s Autopilot is FSD, even though FSD hasn’t been approved in the UK yet. Autopilot isn’t meant for city driving, yet they test of bunch of scenarios that Autopilot wasn't built to do in the first place....

@dictionaryhill @insta360 Buying out my lease is pretty set in stone for me as well. Now more than 15k miles (of my 30k lease) in nine months of ownership.

Just ordered an .@insta360 x5 since they went on sale. I heard that a new camera is coming by July, but the price at Costco was compelling enough so I can have it with for my Big Route 66 road trip in May. I’ve reached out to Lucid to see if I could find a Gravity press vehicle to tow the Airstream with along with the Iconic RT 66 photography but doesn’t seem they want to participate. I don’t think GM has a press car program for something like that. So I’ll pull the Airstream with the Rivian! It’s gonna be epic. This trip will for sure mean I need to buy the Rivian lease out.

NEWS: NASA is planning a bigger @SpaceX Moon mission role using Starship, in a massive blow to Boeing. With the new proposal, Boeing's SLS would no longer be used to boost Orion close to the moon. Instead, Starship and Orion would dock in Earth orbit, giving Starship the pivotal role of propelling the capsule to the moon’s orbit, before taking astronauts down to the surface. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

Most people still think operating an EV for 1/4th the cost and “$10 fill ups” are a hoax. Be sure to remind those people that it’s reality!

Highly disagree that they're not great for remote/rural areas. You are more likely to live in a single family home in a remote/rural area, which means you're more likely to be able to charge at home. The only real downside of EVs is that 'when' you have to use a public charger, it's slower than filling a gas tank. If you have home charging, that negative is almost entirely eliminated for the vast majority of people, the vast majority of the time, rural or Urban.

It’s never a good idea to lump a group of individuals into one specific 🪣. After-all human beings have different motives and do the most part are able to think independently. But ⚡️ 🚗 are not for everyone. Although they are great for city driving, we can all agree they’re not ideal for remote or rural areas. Furthermore, fossil fuels account for 60% of the 🇺🇸 power grid. Whereas wind and solar only contribute ~15%. But in order to continue growing economically, all energy sources will need to be unlocked.

@theOGLindy I was born in Seattle and grew up in that area. Moved to Phoenix after high School and was there almost 16 years. Could never get used to the heat. Been back in the Seattle area for a decade now and couldn't be happier.

Update. It’s 32* in Providence RI. Right now 7:55. It’s 99* in Phoenix, AZ. I miss the heat. 67* temp difference is wild. I want to go home. And yet I hate that it hit 100* in PHX today.

@Skate_a_book IIRC the accident was in August, while Elon's tweet was in December.

Not my first time in a full size truck. My brother used to have an F150 with 8ft bed, and my dad had an F250. The Rivian was in the shop for the charge port door malfunctioning. They didn't have any Rivian loaners to offer me so they set me up with Enterprise who brought the Silverado EV. Was cool to try for a day, but the turning radius is definitely something to get used to 😅

Do you think this will be the next EV to get canceled? Just spotted this Chevy Silverado EV backing up for a charge while I was leaving Kuttawa, KY on my way to Chattanooga Also Tesla did a great thing by opening up their supercharging network!

@elonmusk If you want my honest opinion: Gemini still gives me better answer in fewer prompts. I’m using Grok to double check output from Gemini now, but would love to use it as a more primary tool

Being able to have my car drive me to Bend is great, but it's just upgrading an experience I can already have. For me, the appeal of AVs is not replacing the driving I already do, but enabling things I cannot (responsibly) do right now. Traveling while sleeping Enabling blind people to have equal mobility Emergency medical travel Underage driving Pick me up at the trailhead or kayaking take-out Neither Waymo nor Tesla really do this yet. Waymo replaces Uber in certain geographical areas. Tesla automates most of my existing driving. But neither particularly opens up new things.
Whole Mars Catalog@wholemars

A lot of people are focused on when Tesla will catch up to Waymo, which is fair given that Waymo has thousands of driverless cars and Tesla only has a handful. But not enough people ask “When will Waymo catch up to Tesla?” 1. When will Waymo be able to take me on a coast to coast drive? 2. When will I be able to buy a Waymo? 3. When will Waymo cross 8 million cars that can run their software? 4. When will Waymo be able to work with no geofencing restrictions? My contrarian take is that it’s a lot easier for Tesla to catch Waymo than for Waymo to catch up to Tesla.
