@never_released @wmf Comparable to minimal pKVM or gunyah in Arm EL2, i.e. running Linux KVM as nested hypervisor?

@wmf Very slim HV. They're still Nitro Hypervisor platforms and still ship with Linux as the dom0

Each child actually adds far more than this, as we don’t relate merely to other individuals—we also relate to the emergent dynamics between those individuals. The simplest example of this emerges when moving from dyad to triad: Say you’re a husband and you have a child. Now you’re a husband, a father, *and* in relation with the mother-child dyad. This scales not in proportion to undirected edge relations, but *combinatorially* with the set of all possible familial subsets. In other words, family dynamics grow and evolve as *hypergraphs*.

every child you add to your family adds much more than one new relationship third child = four more relationships fourth child = five more relationships

🔺iPhone models announced today include Memory Integrity Enforcement, the culmination of an unprecedented design and engineering effort that we believe represents the most significant upgrade to memory safety in the history of consumer operating systems. security.apple.com/blog/memory-in…

is there actually a point in being alive if the end result is making the world a slightly worse place* by existing? * And taking more than giving definitely counts as that

3/ Andrew Côté (@Andercot / Hyperstition, Inc.) “Technology takes jobs that suck and replaces them with jobs that are cool. This has always been true. What AI forces us to acknowledge is that today lots of jobs make you feel important, but are actually bullshit that waste everyone’s time. Why is it impossible to build physical infrastructure? Because there is an army of 'environmental coordinators' whose job is to make everyone feel good about themselves, do 'stakeholder engagement', answer emails, and generate meetings. This is retarded and dumb. In the past almost everyone was a farmer, now almost no one is a farmer, yet there is more food than ever. We have constructed a large society where the majority of people do not have to think for themselves to survive. Get a degree in accounting, be an accountant. Or law. Etc. With AI, any job that is script-following can be replaced. People will have to start thinking for themselves and making decisions. AI is bad at making decisions and good at recalling information. We will find that the net-net is, yes, many jobs go away, just like machines replaced physical labor. Now, everyone has to think for themselves. This is uncomfortable for a consumer economy predicated on hacking dopamine and wage slavery. "Labor" is another word for "person who is told what to do." It is a good thing for that to end, because it's not necessarily the case that most humans are unagentic idiots, just that we've bred them to be that way to work jobs that suck and dull the human spirit.”

youtube.com/watch?v=PRWZWP… The kit comes with all the balls and such you see in the video. You have a little, simple G-code program and run it; the software captures the data. My pic was of the ball bar on it's 0.0001mm calibrated fixture you set it in before you test; because the software knows the ball bar's exact length, it can detect any deviation and calculate all kinds of data about the kinematic health of a CNC machine. Backlash, level, servo mismatch, out-of-square conditions, ball screw damage, etc etc. The software shows you all the different errors, and even helpful diagnostics to solve them. New cost, about $12,000 for the kit. Mine was the eBay deal of the century at $1600.

"The Gap Through Which We Praise the Machine" ferd.ca/the-gap-throug… I agree with this criticism of the LLMs and how they are hyped for magic when it actually needs effort and training to be effective.
