Anyone in sf want to sit in a room and build + market apps together? Reply with an impressive non-vanity metric from the last thing you’ve built. My previous app ($2+ arpu) and views from the room:

@athcanft try it on the @tryhelium flow i promise it'll be net proceeds lift (marginally lower conversion, higher trial to paid, lower take rate)

@cwsaas @michaelque22 i would totally say the opposite. then we’d figure ways to help customers avoid fees without consequence. transparency is the best way to build a big business here.

@zzwitz @michaelque22 “every client we’ve had at my business has had has went through review fine” I highly doubt you’re going to say the opposite

@seraleev We’ve had dozens of app2web flows go through review on Helium and none have been rejected for it. That includes - In app apple pay - In app browser - Out of app browser Those are in order from most to least risky, but we’ve still never seen a rejection for this

Wanted to hear from the Superwall CEO on this. Key points: - This payment method is allowed in the US - No issues with App Review approval - Available on request only - All risk is on the developer

For those wondering about this- it’s powered by @Superwall and is *not* generally available because we *do not know* if it’s allowed. We built in-app stripe checkout for two reasons: 1. Our customers asked us to 2. It was relatively easy We give it to big customers if they ask us to and we force them to submit a build to app review with this enabled (US Only) while explicitly stating in review notes that in-app stripe checkout is being used for US only customers in accordance with the latest court ruling. The facts: - It’s been approved every time - we don’t know if all app reviewers know if this is allowed - can’t find anywhere in the official apple guidelines explicitly banning this. I don’t condone it without warning but I’m not going to sit here and dictate what level of risk you’re willing to take. For those wondering, - it performs similarly our highly optimized external web checkout flow, depending on the app. - this variant uses Stripe Managed Payments

Yep agreed use Helium, we have spent the past 6 months building the best possible app to web payment flow that doesn't negatively impact conversions and it's compliant
Dan Loewenherz@dwlz

This is obviously a paid promo for Superwall. Disappointing. Other notes: 1. App Store rules require opening an external browser to complete checkout. This UI is completely fake or gets you banned. 2. 90% of txns for trials will be through $0 balance prepaid cards and fail.

Holding $50k MRR in month 4 with zero paid ads and zero organic activity. That revenue is coming purely from renewals and ASO built during 1 year of paid marketing on TikTok and Meta. I wanted to see how much net revenue the app could hold with no marketing over the past 4 months. I’m going to start running ads again soon, and this time I’ll test Google Ads too
