One thing I gotta hand @openai is the way they'd built the Codex team w/ @embirico and @thsottiaux.. relentless focus on taste and craft despite being caught flat footed by cc.. and we can see the results.. the vibes are immaculate. The products are great. And a lot to look forward to as a user/dev. Like Steve said.. A players attract A players.

FINALLY Anthropic responded to the shitty Opus 4.7 and 4.6 performance everyone's been screaming about for a month. Turns out they'd quietly made Claude Code worse in three different ways: 1- they lowered the default reasoning effort to cut latency. 2- shipped a caching "optimization" that gave Claude amnesia every turn, and 3- bolted on a "keep responses under 100 words" system prompt that apparently nobody bothered to evaluate for coding quality. It took weeks to catch because their internal staff weren't even using the same build as paying customers and they pinky-promise to actually test things before shipping next time.
