@ComeHometoRome As a member of the Lord’s church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints we have modern day prophets and apostles to guide and direct and more importantly The Gift of the Holy Ghost to testify of eternal truths.

As a protestant, you have to church shop to find the pastor who agrees with your interpretation of scripture. As a Catholic, you assent to the interpretation handed down by the Sacred written and oral tradition of the Apostles and their Successors.

Now, I'm not a biblical scholar, but.....

Haha, this is delicious. Apparently The Stranger has permanently disabled comments. I read about this just now in a Reddit post, and then checked a bunch of their articles. It's true. There was no announcement about this, no reason given. But I can give you an educated guess as to why. It's because even on this most left wing of rags, the overwhelming majority of comments mocked TS writers and their positions. And TS can't have that, can they? I used to love TS, but over the decades it's gone downhill. It's current crop of writers are utterly childish and insufferable. However, critics wrongly dismiss it as irrelevant and ineffective. Unfortunately, it's impact on local politics is undeniable. TS has been quite adept at convincing Low Information Voters who and what to vote for, and our city and state has suffered for it. Of course, if TS ever does finally shuffle off its mortal coil, I'll no longer have a useful tool for telling me who and what NOT to vote for when I don't feel like doing the research myself. But so be it. The sooner this slow death ends and this leftist rag finally dies for good, the better.

Very interesting polling data. When asked: “There is only ONE true way to interpret the teachings of my religion” or if there are more, 77% of Catholics responded that there is more than one way to interpret their religion. This is very strange knowing that the biggest gripe against sola scriptura is that there can be numerous interpretations of scripture, but it looks like Catholics themselves believe that there can be numerous interpretations of their own magisterium. 🧐 Only 19% believe that there is only one way to interpret their churches teachings, compared to 41% of evangelicals.
