@Matthew_Sean96 Might see a move during the draft but I’d say we’re looking at FA market for any major changes. And for anyone thinking we should try for Robertson, hopefully came to their senses today when it was reported he wants 14M/yr
I know Penguin fans are probably getting impatient with Kyle Dubas considering all the trades taking place in the NHL, but the Penguins don't have a lot of draft capital.
@JakePenrod You take talent when it’s available. Thats all.
Also, we can always make moves afterwards to find a big center that can defend and rebound.
We don’t have to have this be the final roster lol.
Hornets new starting lineup:
Coby White
Kon Knueppel
Brandon Miller
Miles Bridges
Moussa Diabete
Naz Reid
Hannes Steinbach
Is Charlotte a playoff team 🤔⁉️
@john_keeffer Average games played
Lauri 55 games
JJ 57
Keyonte
George 65
Kessler 65 minus last year
Grant it we weren’t good so no reason to push and we were tanking, but still an injury is an injury. Now instead of tanking, depth will be a reason to not rush back from injury
The Jazz are going to have a problem of having too much talent and not enough minutes.
The Jazz will sign Walker Kessler which means one of Ace or Darryn has to come off the bench. That doesn’t work for long, and leads to needing to trade Lauri, JJJ, or Kessler down the road.
Jazz fans, please don’t freak out if/when Will Hardy has Peterson come off the bench to start the season. He’s done that with every rookie, and most have made the starting lineup within a couple months (Kessler, Keyonte, Collier, Ace)
League average shot attempts per game is around 90. How are you divvying those shots up if you’re the Jazz?
Lauri, JJJ, Key, Ace, DP, Brice, Kessler, etc….
Good problems to have undoubtedly, Will Hardy must be licking his chops right now. 🔥🔥🔥
I’m guessing the reason the Pens haven’t been more active, with all due respect to the players, is that Rust, Rakell and Novak are not many teams’ “Plan A” when Jason Robertson, Dylan Larkin, Zach Werenski and Connor Hellebuyck are available
@Kalibunga YES!!!!! Offer Robertson 15 per year. Trade Rakell, Flip his return plus 2 picks and prospect for Thomas.
You figure 3 1st 1 3rd and a prospect.
We’d still have about 20 million in space.
Everyone in Pitt says “everyone wants Rust.” Okay, then trade him for a first.
Take that first plus your current first plus Koivunen or whoever and get Robertson or see if Toronto GM tells you no on Matthews.
Trade Rakell too.
Or just keep being the same team.
@UtahJamz As much as I like them, if you trade in separate deals Svi, Konchar and Brice that’s 17 million. You’d get 2nd round picks and about 15 million in space to sign a Big Quality vet.
I like Brice, But it feels like he's expendable. Svi and Konchar are gonna be valuable next season. Key and DP are going to eat up most of the backcourt minutes. I wouldn't mind flipping Brice to try to add defense, no matter the position.
I am not sure I can remember a team as high variance as next years Jazz. Feels like both 25 and 60 wins are on the table.
I can easily talk myself into either. Should be quite a fun first few months
It feels like Utah’s consensus starting lineup is:
Keyonte George
Darryn Peterson
Lauri Markkanen
Jaren Jackson Jr.
Walker Kessler
6th man: Ace Bailey
I’m not sold on Lauri defending full-time 3s. Still, Utah essentially has six starter-caliber players.
@HunterHodies Pens don’t really have a player to trade that will get any value in return. Can’t trade old guys with a year left for a younger star power even if you are willing to pay the contract. It would take those guys and multiple first round
picks
I’ve stayed mostly pretty silent about the lack of Pens trades so far because…what do you expect when you see prices like these? There’s no way they’re really making any of those deals.
Another thing to consider is that Dubas is super stealthy, hardly anything leaks out.
